A few hundred contacts disappeared off my iPhone yesterday. I looked at a few threads in this forum and tried to restore an archive of my contacts from iCloud. All I see is "No archives available". iCloud Contact sync worked great until June 26, 2018. Any ideas?

I turned on the contacts in my husbands iphone/icloud options and it merged both of our contacts..His are a mess and there are 5 million of them. Is there a way to keep his contacts and mine seperate even though we share the same apple id? HELP!

Unfortunately I'm not sure there's much I can do to help. When your contacts are deleted it's not unusual to still see this when you text or use spotlight search. The device retains some residual contact information in cache memory even when the contacts are deleted. However, there's no way to access this directly, or transfer it back to your contacts on your device. If you have a backup of your device, you may be able to recover them by restoring to the entire backup, however this is not always successful. If you want to try, and your backup is in iCloud, use this procedure to prevent any recovered contacts from being overwritten by iCloud:

If you are syncing your contacts from your Yahoo account, be advised they have been experiencing server problems over the last week, which could be causing your issue. Mail has been failing to deliver, so I suggest that would cause contact syncing to fail. The "Maybe" that you see has to do with the inability to check against your contacts list. While the contact may appear in a previous thread, since the phone cannot check your contact sync because of a connection failure, or intermittent connection, it cannot verify it. It should correct itself when Yahoo clears up their problems. Check your contacts by going into the Contacts app and then look in the upper left corner to see if you have more than one group of contacts and if you have all groups set to view.

I am trying to get Hubspot contact information into my phone as Apple contacts, so that when someone calls in, I know who it is. So far, I haven't found a way to do it. If you export contacts from Hubspot to Google, all of the phone numbers come across as notes, so not in the correct field. This makes it unusable if you then sync Apple contacts with Google. Anyone out there with the same issue?

After speaking with online support, it turns out there is no way to sync Hubspot with iCal and/or iCloud contacts. This seems like a necessary feature for this type of software, and the support agent was unable to answer why they haven't integrated Hubspot with iCloud. I've created a Hubspot account, however, it is very unlikely that I will use this software in it's current state... I really hope they build this capability in because this small group of users can't be the only people with this problem.

Yes, please!!! I call from the Hubspot app on my phone and then when they call me back, it only shows a number, not a person or company!!! manually adding them to my iphone contacts is really time consuming.

This is wrong. Read-Only means the contact is stored on another device and is being synced to the iPhone. You cannot delete Read-Only contacts from the contact card. You will get an error stating that the contact has not been deleted. You can only remove a Read-Only contact by deleting it from the account that is syncing to the phone, like google, Facebook, or Outlook.

update: did a full reset, then restored from backup. still had the problem. did a full reset again. this time did not restore from a backup. the phone then properly sync'ed and brought in all icloud and google contacts. Summary: for me, the fix was a factory reset and NO restore from backup - painful, painful solution. beyond ridiculous. not happy - but happier than yesterday. Iphone SE @ ios 16.x, problem occured upon update to 17.1.1 on 11/22/23. Good luck, folks.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried soft resets, deleted and recreated my Exchange account. Email and calendar syncing fine but cannot see contacts at all - those from iCloud and Exchange both missing (before I started this, I could see the summary number of each list of Contacts but couldn't access any of them - now I get 0 contacts for each list).

Exporting Contacts from iPhone: It can be a pain to transfer data from phone to phone or between a phone and computer - but it doesn't have to be that way. This article presents 5 foolproof ways detailing how to export contacts from iPhone to computer.

TouchCopy is a fantastic way to copy contacts and other files locally from your iPhone to your computer, so you don't need to worry about syncing with iTunes or storing your personal data on a cloud service (as seen in some other methods).

This method is great if you need to export only a couple of contacts here and there, but does not compare to TouchCopy and iCloud for bulk exports. You can export individual contacts from your iPhone via email.

As we saw in Method 1, we can use TouchCopy to export contacts from iPhone and import them into Outlook with only 1 click. However, if you used iCloud or email to export iPhone contacts to your computer, you can still import the vCard files into your contacts manager like Outlook or Gmail.

If you have multiple email accounts on your iPhone, you should be aware that each account might have its own contacts list, too. It's possible the contacts are disabled for one or more of these accounts, and there's a way you can check this.

Short Name is a setting for contacts that makes your contacts easier to read, but there may be times when this feature conflicts with third-party apps. Try turning this feature off to see if it fixes the problem.

If you're using your iPhone with a Mac, and syncing contacts between them, here's one way to get your hands on the photo, which I just tried. But this certainly is far from optimal; I hope there's some easier way.

For all the people who use Windows or Linux:When you go to your contacts and than the person you want the picture from, just hold the circle with the picture in it and click copy. Than you can paste it in a Whatsapp chat to the Person you want to send it to. SMS or E-Mail works too.Another info:If you send the picture over Whatsapp you can go to Whatsapp on your Pc over the browser and download the picture from there to your Pc.Hope it helped you.

First go to Device Settings > Contacts and confirm that the 'Default Account' is set to 'iCloud'. If you do not see this setting that is OK, the setting should only be available if you have more than one account added to your device. If there is no account connected to the device, then your Outlook contacts will be saved locally but will not be synced to other devices.

I have a VCF file with multiple contacts in there. The issue i am facing is i am hosting this on AWS S3 as a standard .vcf file. On android when this link is clicked, both contacts are saved no problem.

On iPhone however, the vCard does not save all contacts, it only allows it to save the first one on top of the vCard. Is there any way to change this vCard to allow all contacts to be downloaded to iPhones X and higher?

Use the Move to iOS app from Google Play to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone. Another option is to use the Android SIM card: On the Android, open Contacts, tap Settings > Import/Export > Export > SIM card > insert the SIM card in your iPhone.

You will have to access your iCloud account from an internet browser. You can do this on your iPhone or another device that you can connect to your iCloud account with. For this method to work, you will need to have an iCloud backup of your Contacts. Follow these instructions to access your recently deleted contacts on iPhone:

When restoring your contacts from your Mac using the Finder, you have to delete your iPhone data and restore all of it from a backup. Obviously, the downside to this method is that you will lose all of your data gathered since the last backup, but if restoring your contacts is more important than the newly added data or photos you may have taken, then this method is worth trying.

Knowing how to restore deleted contacts on your iPhone is great, but it would be better if you never had to use these techniques in the first place. Save yourself a few headaches by following these tips to prevent your iPhone contacts from being lost:

Unlike manually syncing GAL contacts to Outlook where users need to initiate the sync whenever there are contact changes (e.g., contact additions, deletions, modifications), CiraSync offers automatic contact sync throughout the day to ensure that all changes are reflected in the target device. This is particularly beneficial in large organizations with a large volume of users.

To help minimize your chances of facing this problem, we offer automatic daily backups of your contacts to ensure you can quickly and easily restore data when needed. Your contacts will be safe from permanent deletion for 60 days when you use Contacts+, so act fast and get your data back where you need it.

If spring cleaning included buying a new iPhone, and you were once an Android user, then allow me to guide you through the dreaded task that is transferring contacts from one operating system to the other.

I break down all of that below, including three simple methods to transfer your contacts from Android to iOS, and steps for iPhones that support physical SIM cards and ones that support the newer eSIM.

3. Enter the six or ten-digit code from the iPhone into the Android. A Transfer Data screen will appear, with a list of items you can copy over to your iPhone. If you're just moving your contacts, check off the respective bullet. If you want to move all of your files and data, check off everything.

2. After the backup sync is completed, switch over to your iPhone. Open up the Settings app > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > and enter your Gmail credentials. The contacts from your Google account should sync with the iPhone and automatically begin importing. ff782bc1db
