i clip a lot.i mean A LOT A LOT.i spend a lot of time on twitch and every time i watch a stream i at least clip two things.I just scrolled down to the very bottom of my clips i made and for some reason it stopped loading up more of them when i know for sure i have a ton more.did twitch ad a clip limit? If so FeelsBadMan. I had a ton of good clips i wanted to go back and see

Example No. 1: A lot of my clips on my channel had their category removed, after the game category "Deponia: The Complete Journey" got removed from Twitch. If it would be possible to edit categories on clips, these clips wont be categoryless anymore.

Is There A Way To Download Twitch Clips

Example No. 2: Imagine a VOD, where someone plays two games. Lets call them "GAMEONE" and "GAMETWO" for orientation. If the VOD is live and a clip is created, it get the category of the game which is currently live. But if the VOD isnt live anymore, and a clip gets created, the category will ALWAYS be GAMEONE, regarding if the category has changed when the streamer was live. So there it would also make sense to change the game category on clips as well.

That fact that this doesn't exist astounds me. Also, as many have said, every time we change categories it adds a chapter to the VOD, so why can't clips read that information and be labeled appropriately? We still need a way to edit old clips that are miscategorized though.

For example, if there is an awesome Animal Crossing clip being saved under the Fortnite category, it wouldn't be discovered almost at all since no one in their right mind would search for a game's clip in a different category.

As someone who streams multiple categories per stream and makes clips from the VOD after stream, this feature would help A LOT. I have quite a few clips miscategorized due to them defaulting to the first category of the stream.

it would be a good thing to be able to change the category of existing clips,

so creators have the ability to correct their mistakes in forgotten category and title changes or wrong allocated clipcategories after they change it midstream

It astounds me that Example 2 is still an issue more than four years after the VOD Chapters feature launched. The site knows which category the stream was in at any given time, so why don't clips inherit that same information?

I make clips from vods all the time. The most frustrating thing is not being able to change the category of a clip during or after its already been made. The only way to do this is to first change the category of the entire vod and then make said clip.

This happens independently in both Chrome and Firefox and it doesn't seem to matter which streamer it is for. The streamers do have clipping enabled which is not the issue. Is it some sort of rate limiting after creating 2 or more clips within a specific time? Regardless it sometimes lasts several hours until I can clip properly again.

Recently I lost at a minimum 58 clips from my channel due to the person who created them no longer being part of my community. This included my most popular clip of all time and many other amazing funny moments.

My susgestion is to change how this works. Take away people's ability to delete clips that they created for another channel either all together or after X time they cannot delete the clip. Nobody should have power or control over the creators content which this gives. This person had full control over my clips they created for me and therefore my content. I should not have to download every clip of mine just to keep them safe, they should be safe on Twitch. The content creator should have full ownership of any clips made of their channel.

Let people delete their clips they created from being publicly viewable but the clip still exists for the streamer to do so as they please. This also lets the streamer know someone clipped something they shouldn't, but the clipper can't quickly delete the evidence.

This is really important, even more so with the new Featured Clips functionality.

The best way for this to work imo is to only allow the creator to delete the clip on a time window after it was created (24 hours sounds like a good time frame).

Also, it should be possible for author or the channel owner to remove the author's name from the clip. Small creators sometimes don't have hundreds and not even dozens of clips so losing some because a person was banned can be quite a blow to a channel.

I'm on board with this but would prefer if it was implemented with a view threshold. It's extremely common for many users to clip to re listen to something they missed, or even accidentally hitting the clip button. I don't want a massive amount of random, unnecessary clips in my clip library. This would allow users to delete clips that quite frankly don't make a difference to the streamer (they still have the vod!) while keeping them in control of their most viewed clips.

I had to ban someone in the community for behavior outside the stream etc. It was really a tough call as they were someone we really trusted and even made a mod. Their contributions to the community were great, but their behavior outside of the stream was deemed unsafe. All of the clips they took on stream disappeared, and it was a bummer. The streamer should definitely have ownership over all clips and get to decide on a case by case basis which ones they keep - even from banned users.

I agree. We (broadcasters/editors) should be abble to claim ownership of clips made on stream (or secure them in case of...). So, even if original creator delete it from his side we automaticly get the ownership.

Secondly, if someone is being exploitative with clips of other people's channels, they should not be allowed to destroy all evidence of their wrongdoing. If a streamer would like to pursue legal action against someone based on a clip, viewers should not be allowed to strip streamers of access to their own content and potential evidence needed in a legal battle. Moreover, if the user who made the clip is the defendant in a legal case, even if the streamer were to download the clip, the information about the creator of the clip is not there and any evidence provided by the clip would be futile.

Due to privacy laws around the world, someone would still have to have a way to "disconnect" themselves/their name from any clips they've created, if they so choose.

So Twitch would have to implement a way for users to be able to anonymize their created clips.

It's a pitty when you see that an ex moderator or normal user has deleted all his/her clips from your channel.

It's much more frustrated when this clips are so old that you aren't able to remake them because there are no vods of this old streams.

It woud be so great if you can implement a feature where all clips are deletable only for channel owner.

Great would be also a new permission for users/mods which could make it possible to delete clips at the channel.

I know it's possible to export highlights to youtube but I was trying to do that from my phone and all the twitch app would let me do is create clips. Is there any way to download the clips/export them to YouTube or otherwise combine them into one video somehow?

If anyone is curious the clips in question are all from an aids pug from the other night in which I got a couple of humorous market garden kills.

Don't want to spam the stream highlights thread with a million mediocre clips but it'd be cool to have a video of them all together (some of them are only funny given I've gotten away with the same stupid jump earlier)

pretty sure i have my accounts linked, i've uploaded highlights directly to yt but haven't figured out how to get clips to

going to probably do what vari said and combine them into one longer video

I work on the Clips team at Twitch. This is a really reaaalllyyyy cool project ? Just wanted to mention that we recently released a clips creation API. The documentation can be found here: ttps://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#create-clip

Sometimes there's no point in creating highlights because other people have already created awesome clips. It would be really nice to be able to add clips to collections, so relevant videos, whether highlight or clip, can be viewed together.

I know this is old, but with Twitch making more use of clips this fall, I hope they revisit this idea. Letting us sort our clips into collections or another folder/playlist system would be awesome. I would love to have a collection of clips of my dog, clips by game (or franchise, like all of Zelda), etc. Twitch please make this happen!

Yeah, it's weird that Collections can't also contain Clips. It'd be really nice to see this. Not sure why this other issue with more votes is locked: -general/suggestions/33775027-allow-streamers-to-add-clips-to-collections

I like this idea. I want to be able to watch my clips without having to click on them all, they just keep going from clip to clip until they end or until I stop them. I want to have a clip playlist for my Starting Soon and BRB scenes on Streamlabs OBS. The only way I've been able to manage this is by downloading all of the clips and then compiling them on a video editor myself which is quite time consuming and not something I want to have to redo every time there is a new clip made from my stream.

This is a much-needed feature. It'll increase visibility of clips ten-fold and ensure that people are able to find them much easier than the current system of scrolling through hundreds of clips to find the one you want. ff782bc1db
