Erasmus+ Youth Exchange

is media everything?

Thank you for being part of this project! 🤍 #trowback

statistics & information

Participant's expectations BEFORE the exchange

  • I was expecting to meet new people and different cultures and also to improve my English

  • This was my first time in youth exchange so I did not think much of it, I just thought that it will be hard for me to fit in

  • I didn’t have much expectation before this youth excange

  • To be honest, I didn’t expect that I will like project so much and that I’ll meet people who became my friends

  • Expectation was much more serious project about media and lectures

  • I hadn't such experience before, so I had no expectation

  • Normal; None; Medium

  • Not a lot of them as I found out that I’m going 3 days before

  • Lower than I experienced

  • To get to know new people and cultures and to get out of my comfort zone

  • I didnt have any specific expectations. I was only hoping to have a good time

  • I had high expectations that I was going to lear new things and make great new friends

  • High, according to the topic, which I am interested in actually

  • High expectations as it was my first youth exchange.I thought of staying in hotels and that the people would be sociable and we would discuss abouth the topic.

  • I didn't have them

  • Umm, pretty much non

  • Quite high. From people to activities

  • I expected to be involved in a "media environmen" all the time, and to have the opportunity to exchange ideas with people with a different background

  • I had never been to a youth exchange before, so if I have to be honest, I didn't really have any expectations, and if I did, they weren't high. I was excited to see what it was going to be like.

  • A lot of media challenges, work with digital tools and communication, interaction with society

  • I wanted to learn something new, meet new friends and explore new cultures. Without hesitation I can say that I achieved all of these.

  • I thought, that it wold be so cool and incredible

  • That it would would be technical and practical work

  • I didn’t have any

Participant OVERALL experience

  • I’m thankful for the experience 🕺

  • It was interesting – the workshops and free time activities were amazing, participants were so lovely and funny and all respect to the organizators for daring and courage to make such a project

  • Enjoyed it a lot

  • There could've been people who work with social media that give workshops or just information

  • Everything is fine, instead of travel and alarm at the morning that disrupted national music idea

  • That was a time of my life, a perfect way to end the summer

  • Very good experience :)

  • I really enjoyed this youth exchange for so many reasons, I mentioned in Latvia as well. I liked the activities, the participants, the organizators and the free time!

  • Overall it was an exchange that I will always have in my heart, because it kept getting better as the days passed. The only "not so good" thing was the hygeine and the insects...

  • Nice youth exchange, liked it

  • It was truly an unforgettable experience. I cannot even begin to describe how much fun I had, how many amazing new people I met, and I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to be there. As I already said, my expectations weren't high, but this exchange exceeded them at least a 100 times.

  • I really enyoj the exchange but i’d prefere more privacy

  • Everything was perfect!

  • This is my first and I hope not the last experience on some project. It was really amazing from diferente sides! (From activities, new knowledge, nature, excursions, and participants!)

  • Everything was ok pretty much

  • The partecipant were fantastic!!

GET TO KNOW experience

  • It was a precondition to get to know more people, communicate with them and have a common purpose

  • I suggest to do activities that split the teams to the interests and then do smth and discussion. 'Cause the idea to get to know each other with Some facts about you useless as you can't remember anything at that moment. Also, there were the problem to hear each other everytime – so micro is required everytime

  • They were very good, we got to know each other very quickly and became very good friends!

  • These activities were very good because in short time I memorized everybodys names

  • Pretty sociable energisers and also activities required us talking about ourselves which led to other participiants get curious and ask to know each other

  • As an introvert person I really liked these activities because they made me start talking with others and made me able to get to know all the amazing people I met in Latvia

  • The ice breakers and games that we played to get to know each other were very fun and definitely effective

  • I liked every activity 🤩

  • Good

  • Everyone was very collaborative

INTERCULTURAL experience

  • I believe that it gave us insight that we couldn't have otherwise, very interesting and helpful

  • Very good!

  • Maybe having to get some kind of interesting things to know before a kahoot about the country because it's difficult to know if there is no information before that

  • National extravaganzas were fun!!

  • Absolutely awesome! I learned so many new things from other cultures. Latvian dances, words in Ukrainian, Bulgarian and in Italian

  • I think we all loved the Latvian dances, Bulgarian jam, Ukrainian dumplings, Italian food and our fun facts :))

  • National Extravaganza and discussions between the days were enough to discuss about the culyre of every state including Latvia

  • AMAZING

  • It was extraordinary for me to know such different cultures

  • The intercultural activities were great, specifically speaking of the extravaganza evenings, which I enjoyed a lot. It was great that we had the chance to get a taste of different cultures, and personally I learned lots of new things

  • It was fantastic to be part of the other country culture

  • Very interesting and I was amazed by the way everybody interacted with each other to create smth very valuable related to their own culture.

  • For me it was really interesting and tasty. I learned some basic words from each of nationalities! And felt the vibe and the vision of this world this unique people!

WORKSHOP and ACTIVITY experience

  • I liked that all activities was connected with main topic of the project but it was connected in interesting ways, so we didn’t listening lectures or watching presentations, we improved our knowledge at the same time we had opportunities to communicate with foreigns, improve our English, improve out creativity and just have fun

  • Relly interesting; They were good

  • It was very interesting and unusual.

  • The workshops had really interesting topics and I liked them so much because it got us to see how we may work together in groups and how we all think about the topic

  • There could be something more about media itself

  • I expected to deal with activities more related to the topic

  • Some of them did not match the theme of the youth exchange, but overall I believe we learned something new about media; Some were just not needed; they were too general and sometimes off topic; They were related to the theme but they could be a little more informative

  • There were some of boring activities, f.e. to write on the flipchart types of media and social media - there was enough to say it in circle. Also, after this might be activity connected to USE those types of media, not only say them and forget about it.

  • They were good in the field of content-making, but not a lot of practical knowledge (how to gain followers or how the algorithms work)

  • Very much liked; I loved the activities

  • We had to use necessarily social media or google research in order to accomplish the tasks almost for every workshop

  • I liked them all actually. But I was waiting for some more discussions for social media

  • I think the workshops were very interesting and a good way how to make us learn more about media

  • I think we could've spent more time on the news workshop, or open discussions in smaller groups

  • The tasks were entertaining and educational at the same time. The most professional task was to prepare your advertising campaign with an assessment of the target audience and places for ads

  • I enjoyed the most the project we had to do in groups, even though they were the most difficult activity we did!!

  • The theme-related workshops were great, as well. They were interesting and required team work, which I found really nice. They also helped to bring awareness to the topic.

  • I loved the Italian workshop

  • There were really practical and helped to follow the current trends

  • Very interactive and well delivered to us!

  • The workshops were for me really interesting. I learnt English slangs, inspired by people’s thought and ideas and improved my creativity a lot

OPPORTUNITY to express yourself creatively by learning and sharing knowledge in an informal way about media

  • Yes, I could share a lot of ideas while creating music video, shortfilm and etc

  • yes thanks to group work

  • Yes, by doing the workshops and activities

  • Yes, I shared ideas about the music video

  • Yes, when we were working in groups I could share my opinion and hear what the others have to say

  • Yes, of course. We were tasked to create different kinds of content and as young people - we did it in a funny way (music video, photos and so on)

  • Yes i had the opportunity, by creating the short film, making other videos

  • Yes! I know better how to create ideas for the projects. Also all the activities you should create visually are creative. So the project is creative if you have mood for this and the idea

  • Yes. In each activity members were sharing their ideas and experience. And with this information we have done many projects

  • I don't think I did, I cannot answer

  • Yes, definitely. By creating videos, clips and other projects in groups

  • Yes, in the photos

  • Yes I did, I tried my best editing the videos and taking pictures as well since it’s one of the things I’m more passionate about

  • I did have that opportunity in many ways. Showing emotions through pictures was one, creating a mv and a short film was also a way for me to express myself. The cherry on top was the workshop I held speaking for different social issues through art that I had done. (Thank you organizators.💞)

  • Yes, all the workshops were very helpful. For example doing emotions expression between the photos

  • Totally. I felt free to express my ideas on the campaign about the random objects, or on the music video. I think everyone had the opportunity and that made our projects better

  • Yes. As I already mentioned I improved my knowledge in media. We had lots of activities where we had to create videos, photos and of course we had to

  • Yes, of course. Most of the activities were done by expressing ourselves in "tiktok" and movies and videos that were part of the programme and activities.

  • All tasks required creativity, where it was necessary to look for different options for solving the problem. But I liked the task of creating a music video and a film the most, because there I tried my hand at editing

  • With moments of sharing

  • Yes! I felt free to express my own ideas without being judged. Moreover, everyone was so kind to discuss everything in groups if there were different opinions etc. I think that it helped all of us to enrich ourselves

  • I would definitely say I did, escpecially during the group discussions that we had. All the participants were very tolerant of opinions that differed from theirs, which made the conversations feel like a debate, where everyone could speak freely about their thoughts on the topic, me included. I'd say I acquired some new knowledge during these discussions and they were very interesting. Other than that, the workshops related to the theme also gave me the opportunity to express myself creatively in both formal and informal way

  • Yes, with the group activities

  • Especially for the last three projects (marketing strategy, film creation and music video creation), I had the opportunity to express my creativity by planning and directing projects but I also had the opportunity to learn a lot about editing and to deal with creative ideas different from mine

  • Thanks to the fact that we had projects, where we had to create our own visual works, it helped to be more involved in process and make real personal ideas and vision.

  • Yes, talking with eachother

  • Yes! I shared my creativity about photos, music and video editing and writing a script

  • Yes, by working in groups in activities
