A regional workshop of Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) is being organised at Department of Mathematics, IIT Patna on December 4-5, 2021 in online mode. This workshop is one of a series of events organised in different parts of the country to encourage women to pursue research career in Mathematics. The aim of this workshop is to motivate women mathematicians from the eastern part of India by providing them an exposure to quality research work in different areas of Mathematics. Some well-known mathematicians from different parts of the country will deliver lectures on a wide range of topics in Mathematics. In addition, there will be an interactive session where participants can exchange their views and experiences with senior mathematicians. The workshop is funded by National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Who are eligible to apply: The workshop is inclusive of all genders with a focus on female participants. All post graduate students, PhD scholars, research fellows and faculty members of various colleges/universities/institutes pursuing a career in the mathematical sciences are eligible to apply. Women experiencing breaks in their research career are encouraged to participate. Preferences will be given to participants from the eastern part of India.
