Getting to Washington, DC
The closest airports are DCA, DIA, and BWI. DCA (Reagan National Airport) is closest to downtown DC and accessible via the Metro, while DIA (Dulles International Airport) and BWI (Baltimore-Washington Airport) will be an approximately 1 hour drive.
For those who live on the East coast, Amtrak (especially Acela) can be very convenient and arrives in Union Station, a short walk from the workshop venue. Ticket prices are comparable to flights and trains leave every 60-90 minutes.
For those driving to DC, parking can be difficult downtown. We recommend parking at your hotel and utilizing the Metro subway system if at all possible. Other parking recommendations can be found here. Expect to pay up to $50 per day to park.
Once in DC, the Metro subway system is clean, efficient and inexpensive. The closest station to the Bloomberg Center is Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter on the Green / Yellow lines. A convenient (but not to scale) map can be found here.
