June is African American Music Appreciation Month! Created by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, this month celebrates the African American musical influences that comprise an essential part of our nation’s treasured cultural heritage.

Undeterred by deafness and blindness, Helen Keller rose to become a major 20th century humanitarian, educator and writer. She advocated for the blind and for women’s suffrage and co-founded the American Civil Liberties Union.

June Is. Alzheimer's & Brain. Awareness Month. Worldwide, more than 55 million people are living with Alzheimer's or another dementia. Throughout the month, the Alzheimer’s Associations encourage people around the globe to support the movement by wearing purple and training their brains to fight the disease.
