Dear Academic Decathlon Coach:
We hope you are doing well! For the 9th consecutive year, Irving ISD is proud to host an invitational Academic Decathlon meet on Saturday, November 15th, 2025. The event this year will continue to offer both an in person and virtual option.
Our meet has been named the Irving ISD - Greg Jackson Invitational in honor of the long-time legendary Nimitz High School Coach for his 35-year service to Irving ISD and Academic Decathlon.
The coaches from Irving High School, MacArthur High School and Nimitz High School will once again be your hosts and look forward to keeping the Academic Decathlon community motivated, engaged, and excited to compete during this coming school year. The meet will consist of the 7 objective tests. Additionally, we will offer the Super Quiz Relay again this year to get some extra practice. We will use a third party made test that will be similar to the USAD Medium tests.
FEES, ENTRIES and AWARDS:
· In Person Cost: $20 per student up to $600 (30 students) and then $10 per student after that. Testing and Practice Super Quiz Relay included.
Note: There is a cap of 30 students initially. After teams have been given a chance to sign up, registration for more than 30 per team may be allowed.
Pizza Cost will remain $13 per pizza for those interested
· Virtual Cost: $15 per student up to $375 (25 students) and then $5 per student after that. Testing Only. Relay will be emailed to teams to do as coaches wish, but will not count in any way.
· Location: The in-person competition will take place at the same location as the last several years, Nimitz High School. The address is
Nimitz High School
100 W Oakdale Rd
