Impact
My research has been cited in top journals such as Science and the American Economic Review. In total, my work has received over 3,000 citations. I am honored that Nobel Prize winner Tom Sargent uses my research in his book on dynamic programming. My paper on daylight saving time has been used by policymakers in the US Congress and the European Parliament and covered by the New York Times and Der Standard.
Between 2017 and 2022 I used meta-analysis methods to run the first poll aggregator for Czech elections; the project garnered widespread coverage in Czech media. My research has received awards from the central banks of Czechia and Slovakia (for monetary policy relevance) and from the Czech Ministry of Education and Czech Economic Society (for social relevance). My work on macroeconomics and international economics has been used in the policy materials of the IMF, OECD, World Bank, and European Commission.
I maintain the website meta-analysis.cz, which offers data and codes for meta-research. A paper forthcoming in JPE Micro builds entirely on our data. I am also an Associate Editor responsible for meta-analysis at the Journal of Economic Surveys. A podcast episode about my research and impact (in Czech). An older and newer interview about my work. My op-eds.
I have a beautiful life with our Kristina, Daniel, Filip, and Lucie in Litomysl, Bohemia.
