Graduate Diploma of Railway Signalling and Telecommunications


The IRSE Australasian Section, which now has the management rights to the IP of the Graduate Diploma in Railway Signalling course material, are pleased to have been engaged Competency Australia to deliver the course since 2020.


The Graduate Diploma of Railway Signalling is an exciting opportunity for graduate engineers to undertake a broadly based, structured course in Signal Engineering. It is offered as distance education and closely follows the previous course with the addition of some improvements and updates. It is closely aligned to the set of knowledge and skills required by the IRSE for corporate membership.

The course 10780NAT Graduate Diploma of Rail Signalling covers a range of topics including safety management systems, safe railway operations, signal engineering principles, signalling layout development and requirements management.

Graduate Diploma Level

This course is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). The qualification 10780NAT Graduate Diploma of Railway Signalling is an AQF Level 8 training program. Graduates will have advanced technical knowledge; and are required to critically analyse, conduct research, interpret and transmit knowledge, skills and ideas.
