1. How can I participate?

There are many ways in which individuals and groups can get involved this year:

1. Donate Christmas presents for migrant workers—wrapped or unwrapped. A wishlist of gift options is available below

2. Donate wrapping paper for our Wrap Party–sustainable options such as magazines or newspapers welcome

3. Come help us at our Wrap Party—donate time and your hands to help wrap gifts. Feel free to express your artistic flair to personalise presents with doodles and handwritten messages to thank workers for their service.

4. Be a Santa for a day—deliver gifts to their destinations, help gift them out, or even dress up as Santa Claus at our Wrap Party at inspIRRe or at our scheduled distributions.

5. Contribute to our fundraiser to help us buy essential items to gift to workers.

2. Who are the gifts for?

The gifts are for the wonderful migrant workers of Singapore, who build and maintain and keep Singapore clean & beautiful. They are all men, so please ensure to buy gifts accordingly.

3. Do we need to gift wrap our presents?

Yes! We would want to focus on getting as many gifts out so that would streamline the process greatly. Feel free to personalise accordingly with handwritten notes and doodles to express your artistic flair!

We have other unwrapped items available for gift wrapping.

4. What is a Wrap Party

We will be open for Wrap Parties daily from November 15 to December 15, 10am to 5pm at inspIRRe. Please check back here for dates where inspIRRe is closed for corporate events.

Dates not open for public Wrap Parties: 8 to 10 December 2022

You can bring your wrapped gifts or wrapping materials. Or you can just come empty-handed to pack and wrap presents.

We will be adding you to a WhatsApp group chat shortly after your signup so we can broadcast more information or answer further queries.

4. What type of gift wrapping is ok?

You can use any type of wrapping. Shiny wrappers, brown paper and bows, or even newspapers and magazines that can be made to look festive. We encourage eco-friendly and sustainable material. Please ensure to label (a small post-it or handwritten note in the corner is fine), so we are able to identify what we are handing out.

5. Do I have to wrap each gift individually?

Please wrap the gifts as you intend to give to each person.

For example, if you wish to give each worker a t-shirt, wrap it individually. Likewise, if you wish to gift a t-shirt and data card bundle to one worker, then wrap them together.

6. Can we give pre-loved items?

NEW ITEMS ONLY please. We do pre-loved collection other times of the year but in the spirit of Christmas giving, we would like to spread some joy by gifting new presents, which are things that are not likely for them to buy for themselves.

7. What items are required?

Towels, power banks, bluetooth headphones, Tiger Balm or similar. Toiletries such as body wash and shampoo, umbrellas, raincoats, backpacks, 1.5L water bottles, kettles, hot plates, caps, sunglasses, socks, dried fruit and nuts, 3-1 coffee, energy bars, chocolates and biscuits.

**If you plan on giving anything outside this list, please clear with us as the workers have limited space and we prefer to give them items they will like and use They do not have a lot of storage space, so larger items may not be useful for them.

8. Are there any minimums for donation?

There are no minimum dollar values. You can donate what you wish, as is convenient for you, to our fundraiser link.

Similarly, we do not have a minimum number of gifts that you need to drop off.

9. I am arranging a collection with family and friends. Can you pick up from me?

This is one of our largest drives of the year, and we have multiple-area facilitation to make this work. We are also purely volunteer-run. As such, we hope you understand that we are unable to arrange pickups, and request you to please drop them presents off at inspIRRe or a collection point near you.

10. I am from a corporate entity interesteds to run a collection for my office.

That's great! Please contact us via email at christmas@itsrainingraincoats.com so we can best tailor a programme for your needs.

11. I am out of town or otherwise not able to buy and donate gifts. Can I make a cash donation instead?

You can order online from any online retailer such as Amazon or Decathalon and have the items sent to inspIRRe at 470 Upper Paya Lebar Road.

If not, you may also choose to donate to us. You can donate to us via this Christmas fundraiser link. The funds donated are used to purchase essential items for migrant workers as identified by ItsRainingRaincoats.
