I received my MA and PhD in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). My dissertation, directed by Dr. Morgan-Short, examines whether the grammatical and processing skills developed in the native language contribute to second language learning in the context of the classroom as well as in the study abroad setting.
I am affiliated with the Cognitive of Second Language Acquisition lab at UIC. If you want to know more about the exciting work that we do visit us at https://hip.uic.edu/research-groups/cogsla/.
Primary research interests: Second language acquisition, bilingualism, natural language processing, individual differences in the native (L1) and second languages (L2), L2 morphosyntactic development, contexts of instruction, cross-language influence.
Other interests: I love digital illustration and spend most of my free time drawing and painting. I also enjoy reading, jogging outdoors, and swimming.
