Saint Patrick's Day - or simply Saint Patrick - is a holiday of Christian origin that is celebrated annually on March 17 to commemorate the death of Saint Patrick of Ireland, patron of the entire island of Ireland located in the northwest of continental Europe.
Representative traditional Irish dishes include Irish stew (made with lamb, mutton, or beef), bacon and cabbage (with potatoes), boxty (potato pancake), coddle (sausage, bacon, and potato), colcannon (mashed potato, kale or cabbage, and butter), and, in Ulster, the soda farl.
