Linguistics in Ireland: Reflecting on the past, looking to the future
Celebrating 50 years of the Irish Association of Applied Linguistics
CALL FOR PAPERS
The IRAAL 50th anniversary conference aims to bring together all sectors of Applied Linguistics in Ireland to celebrate half a century of our association’s academic activity. We welcome abstracts (max. 250 words) for conceptual and empirical presentations in any area of Applied Linguistics, broadly defined, including, but not confined to the following:
Bilingualism
Multilingualism
Plurilingualism and/or Translanguaging
Corpus Linguistics
Language Policy and Language Planning
Language Teaching, Learning & Assessment
Computer-Assisted Language Learning
Theoretical, Descriptive and/or Historical Linguistics
Language Acquisition (L1, L2 & additional languages)
(Critical) Discourse Analysis
We welcome abstracts for presentations in any of the following formats:
20-minute paper, with 5 minutes for questions and discussion
A thematic panel or round-table discussion to include 3-4 contributors
Poster presentation
Abstracts that specifically address the conference theme will be particularly welcome. Irish-language presentations will also be welcome, as will abstracts from postgraduate students and early career researchers.
