Ahmed Sarsour ("we," "us," or "our") built the Iqraa Wartaqii app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided at no cost for basic features and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.
You can use many features of Iqraa Wartaqii (such as reading Tajweed rules and taking offline quizzes) without creating an account. When using the app as a guest, we do not require you to provide any personal identifiable information.
For a better experience, if you choose to register an account to use our online recitation features, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information:
Account Information: Your email address, password, and chosen display name.
Audio Data / Microphone Access: To allow students to recite the Quran to teachers, the app requires access to your device's microphone. We only record audio when you explicitly press the recording button.
Device Tokens: We collect device identifiers (FCM tokens) solely for the purpose of sending you push notifications (such as when a teacher replies to your recitation).
Iqraa Wartaqii functions as an educational bridge between students and Quran teachers.
When you submit a recitation: The audio file of your recitation and your display name become visible and accessible to the verified teachers on our platform so they can evaluate your recitation and provide feedback.
Other standard users (fellow students) cannot see your profile, your name, or hear your audio recitations.
We employ third-party companies and services to facilitate our Service, provide the Service on our behalf, or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose:
Supabase: Used as our secure backend database and for user authentication.
Google Play Services & RevenueCat: Used to securely process premium subscriptions and in-app purchases. We do not process or store your credit card information on our servers.
Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used to deliver push notifications.
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information. All user data, including audio recordings, are transmitted over secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored securely on our backend servers (Supabase). However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time.
How to delete your data: You can instantly delete your account by navigating to the Profile Menu -> Delete Account inside the app.
What gets deleted: Confirming account deletion permanently removes your email, name, profile, and all audio recitations you have submitted from our servers. This action is irreversible.
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
