Summary of My Work
In Sep 2024, I was engaged with a research internship at Fujitsu AI Lab, where I was serving as an AI intern. In this role, my primary focus is on Multimodality and Large Language Models for Behavior Analysis. I was fortunate to collaborate closely with esteemed professionals, Prof. Tomoya Iwakura and Tatsuya Hiraoka., who guided and mentor me in this exciting endeavor.
Before this internship, I had the privilege of being associated with Fusic Japan as an AI Intern. During my tenure there, my work revolved around the meticulous analysis of Sentimental and Behavioral Patterns in Suicidal Ideation through the lens of Multimodal AI techniques.
Furthermore, I contributed to the field of Healthcare IT Research and Development during my affiliation with CUREMD HealthCare IT Research and Development. As a Business Analyst in the Analysis Department, my responsibilities were centered around the collection and analysis of business requirements. My role was instrumental in ensuring alignment between various stakeholders and project objectives, fostering effective communication, and contributing to the successful execution of projects.

Project: Behavior Analysis using Multimodality and Large Language Models
Responsibilities: Led a team of five researchers at Fujitsu AI Research Lab, Japan, to advance the analysis of animal behavior using Multimodal Language Models (MLMs). Conducted a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art MLMs to establish a strong research foundation and orchestrated the collection of a diverse dataset of image-caption pairs showcasing animal behaviors across various environments. Fine-tuned the BLIP-2 Large Language Model (LLM) to decode nuanced cat behaviors by extracting key visual cues from multimodal inputs, achieving a 3% accuracy improvement over baseline models. Proactively enriched the dataset with novel data points to enhance model robustness and implemented strategies to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. This work significantly strengthened Fujitsu AI Lab’s research capabilities, driving innovation in multimodal AI and setting a new benchmark for analyzing animal behavior.
Impact: Advanced the analysis of animal behavior using Multimodal Language Models, providing new insights into fine-tuning LLMs for nuanced tasks. Enhanced Fujitsu AI Lab’s research capabilities in multimodal AI, contributing to the development of innovative methodologies.
