This project started a year ago with a clear goal: to establish a high-traffic micro-niche site focused on a specific Cricket Game. By leveraging a Hub-and-Spoke model, we aimed to capture high-intent traffic and dominate search results in a competitive gaming market.
The gaming niche is saturated with large authority sites. To compete, we needed a strategy that didn't just rely on backlinks but on deep topical relevance and a superior internal linking structure.
Instead of just writing random posts, we built a comprehensive Topical Map:
The Pillar (Home Page): We designed the homepage as the main "Hub." It contains the most comprehensive guide and is the primary landing page for 95% of our users.
Supportive Ecosystem: We published 100+ supportive articles that covered every micro-topic related to the cricket game.
Strategic Interlinking: Each supportive article was interlinked back to the homepage. This passed maximum "link juice" and authority to our main ranking page, signaling to Google that we are experts on this specific subject.
The results from the Google Search Console speak for themselves:
Total Clicks: 300,000+
Total Impressions: 1.91 Million
Average CTR: 15.7% (Extremely high for the gaming niche)
Average Position: 7.6
Primary Audience: Successfully captured the massive Indian cricket gaming market, where the majority of our search volume originates.
High CTR: By optimizing meta titles and descriptions for "Cricket Game" related keywords, we achieved a 15.7% CTR, far above the industry average.
Topical Mapping: Google recognized our site as a "Subject Matter Expert" because we covered 100+ sub-topics, not just the main keyword.
User Experience: Since most users land on the homepage, we focused on a high-converting, clean design that provides immediate value.
This project proves that with a technical SEO approach and a solid topical authority strategy, even a new site can outrank competitors and drive massive organic growth within a year.
