INSECT PATHOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY LAB DEPARTMENT OF PLANT MEDICALS GYEONGKUK NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Thank you for visiting my website. I have been a professor in the Department of Plant Medicals at Gyeongkuk National University (GKNU) since 2023. Prior to moving to GKNU I held the research scientist position at the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency of Republic of Korea for 7 years.

My research laboratory in the Department of Plant Medicals investigates many phenomena under the broad spectrum of Insect Pathology and Toxicology under Insect Physiology. I study this with a my research team that includes undergraduate and graduate students, Post-Doc fellows, and Scientists.

New research finding are always published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and shared through presentations in academic meetings around the world.

Recently, agricultural environments and natural ecosystems have undergone rapid changes due to climate change. Various pesticide applications have led to the development of pesticide resistance in insects, and disruptions in their metabolic systems have caused various pathological phenomena, including behavioral disorders in insects. The research goal of our laboratory is to understand insect pathology and toxicity at the genetic level based on insect genetic information, thereby creating a healthy agricultural environment.

최근 농업환경과 자연생태계는 기후변화에 의해 급격한 변화를 겪고 있습니다. 다양한 농약 살포에 의해 곤충의 약제 저항성을 발달시키고 있으며, 체내 대사체계 교란을 통한 곤충의 행동장애를 포함한 다양한 병리 현상을 야기하고 있습니다. 우리 실험실의 연구목표는 곤충 유전정보를 바탕으로 곤충병리와 독성현상을 유전자 수준에서 이해함으로써 건전한 농업환경을 만드는 것입니다.
