INTERNATIONAL POST-STROKE EPILEPSY RESEARCH CONSORTIUM
The International Post-Stroke Epilepsy Research Consortium (IPSERC) was convened by Dr. Nishant K. Mishra and Dr. Patrick Kwan in 2022. IPSERC is a community of researchers with variable (and complimentary) expertise across the globe to conduct adequately powered studies to understand and prevent post-stroke epilepsy (PSE).

Our goal is to collate and categorize data reported by PSE researchers and thus further the IPSERC’s mission, that is, to bring together, under one umbrella, large PSE patient datasets which would otherwise remain dormant within research groups scattered across the world.

IPSERC's Mission
IPSERC's Mission
- To advance biomarker studies aimed at detecting active epileptogenesis after stroke.
- To advance the discovery of novel therapeutics and neuro interventions aimed at preventing PSE.
- To develop clinical research methods relevant to the design of rigorous clinical and preclinical studies.
- To contribute data to PSE registry.
- To collaborate with important external stake holders including the US FDA, and share knowledge and experience with colleagues at the consortium meetings and conferences.
