This Privacy Policy explains how IPO Guru India (“we”, “us”, “the app”) handles information when you use our Android application. By installing or using the app, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
IPO Guru India is a free information app for Indian Mainboard and SME IPOs. It shows live and upcoming IPO details such as grey market premium (GMP), subscription, allotment dates, listing dates, a watchlist, calendar, calculator and tips.
We do not create user accounts. You can use the app without signing up, and we do not ask for your name, email (except if you write to us), phone number, PAN, demat details or bank details.
2. Information we store on your device
The app stores limited data locally on your phone using on-device storage (SharedPreferences). This data does not require an account and is not used to identify you as a person.
We may store:
• Watchlist IPO IDs (issues you save)
• Notification-related flags (for example, which allotment alerts were already shown)
• Basic app settings needed for the app to work
This information stays on your device unless you uninstall the app or clear the app’s data in Android settings.
3. Information processed when the app is online
Internet is required for live IPO data, company logos, ads, connectivity checks and allotment links.
When you use the app, the following technical information may be processed automatically by us or by third-party services:
• IP address
• Device advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / AAID), if available
• Device and app information (such as Android version, app version and package name)
• Approximate location derived by advertising partners from IP address (we do not request GPS/location permission)
• Network status (to check whether internet is available)
• Crash or technical logs that the operating system or ad SDK may collect
We send the app package name to our ads configuration server so the correct ad units can be loaded for this app.
We do not collect:
• Name, address or government ID
• Payment or banking information
• Contacts, photos, SMS, call logs or microphone
• Precise GPS location
• Children’s personal information
4. How we use information
We use information only to:
• Show live IPO, GMP, subscription, allotment and listing information
• Remember your watchlist
• Send optional IPO alerts (open today, closing today, allotment out), if you allow notifications
• Check internet connectivity and retry when the network returns
• Show advertisements so the app can stay free
• Load ad settings for this app
• Improve stability and fix technical issues
• Respond if you email us
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
IPO Guru India is ad-supported. We use Google AdMob (Google LLC) to show banner, interstitial and app-open ads.
Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:
• Device advertising ID
• IP address
• Device and app identifiers
• Approximate location
• Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
• Information used to show personalised or non-personalised ads
Ads may be personalised. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation in your device Google settings (Google → Ads).

6. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the app may send local alerts such as:
• IPO opens today
• IPO closing today
• Allotment is out
Notifications are optional. You can turn them off in Android Settings → Apps → IPO Guru India → Notifications. Denying notification permission does not stop you from using the rest of the app.
Background refresh may run periodically while the device has internet so allotment alerts can be updated.
7. Third-party services
The app may share technical data with, or open, these types of services:
• Google AdMob / Google Play services — advertising
• IPO data providers — to load IPO lists, logos and related market information
• Ads configuration server — to fetch ad unit settings using the app package name
• Connectivity / network checks — to confirm internet is available
• Registrar / allotment websites — opened in your browser only when you choose to check allotment
• Android share sheet — only if you choose to share IPO details or the app
Those services have their own privacy policies. We do not control how they independently process data once it is sent to them.
8. Permissions
The app may request or use:
• Internet and network state — to load IPO data, logos, ads and check connectivity
• Notifications — optional alerts
• Advertising ID — for ads
• Boot completed / alarms / wake lock / background work — so scheduled IPO alerts can run
We do not request contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, storage of your personal files, or precise location.
9. Data sharing
We share information only:
• With advertising and infrastructure partners as described above
• If required by law
• If you choose to share content yourself
We do not sell personal data. We do not share data for independent third-party marketing lists.
10. Data retention
On-device watchlist and notification flags remain until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
Ad networks and IPO data providers retain technical data according to their own policies.
If you email us, we keep that message only as long as needed to reply and handle your request.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the app. No mobile app or internet transmission is completely secure. Please keep your device updated and avoid installing the app from unofficial stores.
12. Children’s privacy
IPO Guru India is intended for users in India who are interested in IPOs and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email Appbyteinfotech@gmail.com and we will delete it where we control it.
13. Your choices and rights
You can:
• Use the app without creating an account
• Deny or later disable notifications
• Reset or opt out of ad personalisation in device Google settings
• Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove local watchlist data
• Email us to ask what we store, or to request deletion of information you sent us by email
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you.
14. Investment disclaimer
IPO details, GMP, subscription figures, allotment links, calculator results and tips are for information and education only. Grey market premium is unofficial and can change without notice. This is not investment, legal, tax or SEBI-registered research advice. Do your own research before applying for any IPO. We are not responsible for losses from decisions you make using this app.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be reflected in the app and on this page.
