Although the ringtone volume is up in settings, this might be due to the volume being lowered on the phone. Try calling your wife and as the call is ringing, have your wife press the volume up button. Does the volume appear to be turned up all the way on the slider that appears? as an fyi when i press the volume up or down button while the jabber ringtone rings it goes completely silent again. maybe that is why it did not work when i tried your suggestion of presing up button while it was ringing the jabber client but it worked great in the settings (where you select normal or loud ringtone)
I have an iphone that I use exclusively for work. I like a loud ringtone (similar to old fashioned phones), because I work from home, and I need to be alerted if I'm in a different room from the phone. Before I transitioned from the Office@Hand iphone app to the RingCentral app, all calls came through with the ringtone I chose in my settings. Now, with the RingCentral app, I get a completely different ringtone, with no choice for something that's not a soothing sound. The default Xylophone is terrible. Is there a way to change what my "Default" is, so I can make it the same as the old phone sound I've got for all the other calls coming through? Customers tend to call my direct number as well as the RingCentral number, so I need some consistency in the ringtones.
It's been a while since I did it, so I had to look it up again and realized that I have to go through multiple steps using several apps -perhaps there's an easier way? If I recall correctly I used either one of the Export, Bounce or Share options to save a mixdown of the file with effects and all, then open the resulting file in a suitable audio editor (can't remember if I used Audacity or OcenAudio) to normalize, trim and resave the file as a suitable ringtone format file.
Is there an easier (preferrably single step) method to accomplishing this?
Oh, I almost forgot: I found the "normalize" feature in step 3 to make my new ringtone a lot louder than the default ringtones already on my phone, so unlike what I initially thought, this may be not be suitable for using every time.
I have the same question, but I have figure out a way to export .m4r files. You should select "Apple Audio Tool Box" format, then change format settings to "File type: Apple MPEG-4 Audio, Format: Apple lossless." After doing that, you will get an .m4a file. Simply change the file extension from .m4a to .m4r. Hooray, you've got an .m4r ringtonee.
