I'm not an iphone owner (no shade, just haven't gone down that path) BUT, that noise the iPhone makes, the single "pinggg" when you receive a message - i think it's the single most beautiful relaxing noise in the world.

Can any one tell me what musical note it is? I'm training to be a yoga teacher and really want to see if i can incorporate it into the relaxation practice, without making the iphone owners in the room, have an instinctual reflex response reaction.

Me and my buddy had to spend some time fixing his brand-new iPhone 15 because his custom text tones were gone on IOS 17. The feature still existed on my older iPhone which was on IOS 16. I would not be surprised if Apple is just forcing you to use the "TONE STORE" Here is the documented process pulled from Reddit. this was on Apple forms but it got deleted... figured I would copy and post it here to

""Here are directions for a workaround that worked for me to create custom text tones in iOS 17 (works as of iOS 17.0.1). These are for custom text tones that were not purchased through the iTunes Store.

Hi. Are you saying that a a piece needs to be added for every file? Or that simply the XML you placed above needs to be added? For example, using Windows Explorer I drug 2 files into the Tones area in iTunes, called "01 arrow.m4a" and "jetson doorbell.m4r". I am looking at Ringtones.plist now, and see many "key" so am not sure what to add.

If text messages are not showing up on your iPhone, your device isn't displaying notifications for an incoming SMS or iMessage, or your locked iPhone doesn't make a sound when you get a text, look at these handy solutions to fix such issues.

iPhone lets you automatically filter spam and texts from unknown people. When you enable this, you might miss a few meaningful text notifications in rare cases. Plus, if someone who isn't in your contact list messages you, the Messages app will sort their text into a separate list and not notify you of it.

If you forget and leave Bluetooth buds or devices connected to your iPhone, the new text message sound may output via that instead of the on-device speaker. To fix this, open the Settings app and turn off Bluetooth. Alternatively, you can disconnect these devices from the iOS Control Center by tapping the Bluetooth icon.

If you have enabled text notifications on your Apple Watch, it may not show them on the iPhone or play the tone. To address this, make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are running the latest versions of iOS and watchOS, respectively. Then, turn off text notifications on the Apple Watch from the Watch app on your iPhone.

If you keep the Messages app open on your Mac, new messages may appear there, and your iPhone may not play the text notification sound for them. To fix this, quit the Messages app on your Mac. Or, you may use it there if you're already working on your computer.

If you think that glitches are causing your device to not receive iPhone text message notifications, you may need to update your iPhone's firmware. You can do that by going to Settings > General > Software Update. At times, bugs like failing text notifications are fixed by installing the newest iOS update.

When Apple first released iOS 17, there was a software glitch that left many people unable to access their purchased custom text tones. This bug was fixed in iOS 17.1. If you are experiencing this problem after updating to iOS 17, consider either reverting the update or making sure you've updated again to the newest iOS\r\n"}}, {"@type": "Question","name": "What is the message tone on iOS 17? Have you ever been sure you just received a text, only to find that it was the person next to you? Having the same ringtone and text tone as your friends can get frustrating. A great way to distinguish your iPhone is to change your text message ringtone. We will teach you how to do that and set different text tones for your favorite contacts.

The Tone Store is a great place to find funny text tones for iPhone. See the next section for instructions on how to buy one. If you're a fan of tips like this about using your Apple devices, be sure to sign up for our free Tip of the Day!

If you change your default text tone, every text you receive will make that particular text noise. However, you can also select individual tones for any and every contact. If you're worried about broadcasting who is texting you, you can learn how to hide messages on an iPhone.

Pro Tip: You can also assign your contacts Text Tones directly in the Tone Store. Just follow the steps in How to Buy a Text Message Ringtone from Tone Store and tap Assign to Contact under step 12.

The popularity of Apple's text audio makes distinguishing alerts in a room full of iPhones difficult. A custom text tone is a simple way to resolve this issue, and senders will be relieved to see prompt replies.

With an online video editor, you can get as creative as you want with the audio or keep your text tone simple and sweet. Scary sound effects, cartoon notifications, and video game sounds are unique options, while bells, clicks, and whistle tones are more common. In this article, I'll show you how to make a custom text tone to make your alerts pop!

I'm using Kapwing, a free video editor for modern creators, to make a custom text tone for my iPhone. You can use Kapwing on any device with a browser including iPhones, Androids, PCs, and tablets. For this tutorial, I recommend using a computer since several steps require access to a PC.

Visit Kapwing on your PC and click Start Editing or Create a Workspace. I suggest creating a workspace if you plan on using Kapwing to make more text tones, ringtones, and anything else your heart desires. All you need is an email address to sign up. If not, click Start Editing to be taken directly to the Studio.

Here, you have a few options for uploading your audio. You can drag and drop an audio file into the Studio, paste a URL, or click Upload to find your audio within the file browser. Your audio will appear as a layer on the timeline at the bottom of the Studio. If you need a text tone, I recommending searching for sounds on YouTube. I found my text tone in a compilation video of fun sound effects.

While text tones can be up to 40 seconds long, I recommend significantly trimming your audio so the duration is between 1-3 seconds. Long text tones could be distracting, especially in public spaces, and confusing if your text sound is similar to your ringtone.

This is optional, but you can fine-tune your text tone by adjusting the volume and changing its speed until you're happy with the output. You can also insert additional clips to create a one-of-a-kind sound. Simply drag and drop your audio into the studio, or click Audio on the left side of the Studio to paste another link.

When your text tone is ready, click Export as MP3 at the top of the Studio. Once the MP3 is processed, click Download to save it to your computer. I recommend renaming your text tone to something you can easily find for the upcoming steps.

Open the music app, then drag and drop your text tone into the library. Then click File, Convert, and finally, Create AAC Version. You'll see another version of your ringtone in the music library.

Connect your iPhone to your computer, then drag and drop the M4R from the viewfinder to your phone in the sidebar of the music library. Open the settings app on your iPhone, then tap Sounds and Haptics and select Text Tone. Scroll down to ringtones and select the name of your text tone to make it your new sound. Now, you're all set up with a custom text tone! 006ab0faaa
