Although the ringtone volume is up in settings, this might be due to the volume being lowered on the phone. Try calling your wife and as the call is ringing, have your wife press the volume up button. Does the volume appear to be turned up all the way on the slider that appears? If so, you can lock the ringer volume in and prevent it being changed with the side buttons by disabling Change with Buttons if you'd like. Below guidance is from Adjust the volume on iPhone - Apple Support.

The upgrade to iOS 17 re-enabled attention aware features, and I disabled it and Face ID again, but ringtone volumes are still completely borked again since media volume now also controls ringtone volume.

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with the volume of ringtones on iPhone. Have you tried restarting your iPhone? This simple step resolves a multitude of issues: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Learn how to change the sound that plays when you get a call, text, email, or other notification on your iPhone or iPad. Choose from a variety of built-in sounds or buy ringtones from the iTunes Store.

I have an iphone that I use exclusively for work. I like a loud ringtone (similar to old fashioned phones), because I work from home, and I need to be alerted if I'm in a different room from the phone. Before I transitioned from the Office@Hand iphone app to the RingCentral app, all calls came through with the ringtone I chose in my settings. Now, with the RingCentral app, I get a completely different ringtone, with no choice for something that's not a soothing sound. The default Xylophone is terrible. Is there a way to change what my "Default" is, so I can make it the same as the old phone sound I've got for all the other calls coming through? Customers tend to call my direct number as well as the RingCentral number, so I need some consistency in the ringtones.

I have the same question, but I have figure out a way to export .m4r files. You should select "Apple Audio Tool Box" format, then change format settings to "File type: Apple MPEG-4 Audio, Format: Apple lossless." After doing that, you will get an .m4a file. Simply change the file extension from .m4a to .m4r. Hooray, you've got an .m4r ringtonee.

Love "Shake It Off" so much you wish you could wake up to it every morning? Don't waste money buying a ringtone from the iTunes store. Any song in your iTunes library can be made into a ringtone. Just open iTunes and follow these steps.

7. Right click, select "Get Info" and rename with .m4r. We need our file to be in this format so it can be recognized as a ringtone. My song currently reads "06 Shake It Off 1.m4a,' so I change it to say "06 Shake It Off.m4r." Then I hit enter.

Now you can sync your created ringtone to iPhone with iTunes. You need to connect your iPhone to computer with the USB cable, and select Tones under your device. Check Sync Tones in the right part, and click Sync at the right bottom.

To set a song as your ringtone it needs to saved in your Files app or must be purchased and downloaded on your phone. You can't use songs that you just have saved on Apple Music or another streaming service such as Spotify.

The easiest way to do this is to pick out your favorite song and save it to files using an mp3 converter or buy it in the iTunes Store. Then you'll have to create a loop of that song in GarageBand and export it as a ringtone. Don't worry, the process is quite easy, and we'll talk you through the steps.

Everyone loves ringtones. You can express your personality and musical preferences by customizing the ringtone on your iPhone. This is usually done by purchasing ringtones in the iOS Tone Store, or syncing your own tracks to your iPhone with iTunes, which can be a real pain...

On the other hand, iMazing lets you both import and export ringtones to and from your iPhone, and offers this feature in the free version too. You can use iMazing to copy audio files to your device to use as your own custom ringtones. And you can use iMazing to export your existing ringtones to your computer, allowing you to easily transfer your ringtones to Android.

You can access iMazing's ringtones view by clicking the Ringtones icon in the left sidebar (below your device), or in the main view. iMazing loads all the ringtones on your device and displays them in list form. iMazing shows each ringtone's name, duration, and, if you have purchased ringtones from the iTunes Store, or added your own, it will show the artist and album name, if the files contain that metadata.

To set a contact specific ringtone, open the Contacts app, pick the contact you wish to set a custom ringtone for, and tap Edit. You can then tap the Ringtone button and pick from the tones you imported with iMazing.

Select a ringtone, or multiple ringtones, and drag your selection to your desktop or to a folder on your computer. Alternatively, you can click the Export button to export your selection to the location of your choice.

You can change a contact's ringtone through the Phone app. Open the Phone app and tap the Contacts tab at the bottom, then select the contact whose ringtone you want to change. Tap Edit in the top right corner of the contact's page. Tap Ringtone, then select a non-custom ringtone from the list of available options and then do a test call to see if your iPhone still won't ring.

Try playing the ringtone and assess its volume. It's possible it might have a silent section or is simply too quiet for you to hear it properly, especially in a noisy situation. If in doubt, switch back to a standard ringtone and see if that solves the problem.

It's possible that your iPhone is "stuck" in headphones mode, meaning that it's sending your ringtone to a device that's not actually connected. This might include earbuds that aren't plugged in or a Bluetooth device that isn't turned on.

I have tried to follow the advice given for uploading ringtones applicable to older versions of MacOS, where iTunes was available, substituting the replacement Music program instead, but I don't seem to be able to drag or open the .m4r file that I have created into Music, nor drag it onto my iPhone in the Finder.

'Upload part': one can connect iPhone to computer and drag-and-drop ringtone file to iTunes while it's on iPhone 'General' tab. After that locate newly created ringtone on iPhone in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone (above built-in ringtones, separated by line).

Once the iPhone has the ringtone file copied to it, it will be available for use within the Contacts app as usual. You can select it as a general ringtone, assign it to a particular contact, use it as a text tone or custom ringtone, or whatever else you wish to do.

You can even turn voice recordings into ringtones and copy those over to your iPhone as well, so if you have a favorite audio clip of someone saying a phrase, talking, yelling, hooting, hollering, being goofy, or being themselves, that offers yet another way to customize your ringtone experience. And if you have other audio files laying around, you can easily convert audio files to ringtone files on the Mac using QuickTime as discussed here, which can be handy for exporting audio tracks or even audio from video to use as a ringtone.

Were you able to successfully copy and transfer ringtones and text tones to your iPhone (or iPad) using this method for the Finder in newer MacOS versions? Did you find another approach that worked for you? Share your experiences and thoughts, and let us know in the comments.

2. Go to your music library and find the song you want to make into a ringtone. Play the song and keep an eye on the elapsed time at the top of the app. Note the time stamp where you want the ringtone to start, then note where you want it to end. (Note: Ringtones cannot be longer than 30 seconds.)

Everyone wants to be different, having different dressing styles, hairstyles, hobbies, etc. Even if it's a ringtone, you don't want to use the same one with others. To get custom ringtones for your iPhone, you can purchase ringtones in the iTunes store, or make your own ringtones for free. And you may want to delete a custom ringtone from your iPhone after you use it for a while. If you want to know how to remove a ringtone, you can follow the steps in this guide.

If you want to delete multiple ringtones from your iPhone, it would be time-consuming to delete them one by one on your iPhone. If you can delete all the ringtones you want to remove from your iPhone at one time, that would be great! You may ask how can I make it. Alright, you can use free iPhone transfer software to delete ringtone from your iPhone. Also, a professional ringtone maker like EaseUS Ringtone Editor is a good helper for you.

With a ringtone maker, you can make any sound a ringtone, extract audio from a video, add ringtones to your iPhone directly, and manage all the tones on your iPhone conveniently. There is only a step away from achieving "ringtone freedom," just download a ringtone maker on your computer now!

4) You can check to make sure the file appears on your iPhone and set it as your ringtone immediately. Open Settings on your iPhone and select Sounds & Haptics. ff782bc1db
