I wanted to create an image of the man that had a checkered pattern much like that made by the windows of skyscrapers, and then overlay the man with skyscrapers, for an abstract piece of art.
I started with this photo from Pixabay, a source of copyright-free images. I thought the shape of the head would work well with the urban skyscraper idea that I had.
In iColorama, I smoothed the face using Style/Flow preset 1.
This is the result of applying Form/Glitch preset 15.
For 3D definition of the little blocks, I used Effect/Raise preset 1.
I used this photo from Pixabay as a source for the skyscrapers.
To get a simplified and abstract viewof the skyscrapers, I used Effect/Blur preset 10, Effect/Levels, reduced saturation, and Form/Crop.
Now I used Effect/Blend to blend the man over the cityscape.
I used Adjust/Tonelab preset 4 for depth and clarity, Effect/Levels for contrast, Style/Coherence for smoothness, Effect/Sharpen and Effect/Raise preset 1 for definition, and I cropped.
Now for a 2nd version: I will use this sky image that was originally my photo and that I processed in iColorama with Tone and Style/Coherence.
In iColorama in Effect/Blend, I blended the sky on top of the urban man image in Overlay mode. I used the Fill button so the sky would be stretched to cover the entire image.
Then, using Effect Blend in two separate steps, I again blended the sky onto first the top of the image, and then the bottom of the image, each time using a brush mask to confine the effects to the desired area. I wanted to create the illusion of the skyscrapers in the clouds.
