I was interested in the theme of a face within a face. Sometimes I tried to put a head within the head, which is a complicated thing to try to do. Here I did a simpler thing, and made a face whose cheek contains another version of the same face.
I started with this photo from Pixabay, a source of copyright-free images. I like her interesting face, big eyes and serious gaze.
In iColorama, I used Form/Warp to increase the size of the forhead and eyes. I like how this changes her expression and brings more focus to the eyes. I cropped, and used Style/Coherence, Style/Flow, and Effect/Glow at various opacities to smooth the face.
I reused this image I created previously, as one of the steps I used in this tutorial.
I opened the image of the girl in Effect/Distort and touched the Photo button in the bottom right of the screen to bring in the "solar system" image and distort it over the girl. I used my fingers to resize the solar system so that the shiny parts cover the face.
I used Adjust/Tonelab to brighten the image and add depth.
I want to put a face within the face. So I need to stretch the face. To deform the face, I used Form/Deforms preset 10 or 23.
Here is another output from Form/Deforms preset 10 or 23, with different slider settings.
Using Effect/Blend, I blended the previous two images, Then I applied Style/Coherence preset 1 in Normal mode to smooth the result.
