This is one of my many images blending a woman with a flower. I want the woman to take on part of the shape of the flower, while retaining clear recognizability as a person, yet with the key character of the flowers to also be clearly present. For these types of blends, it is best if both of the images to be blended have their subjects isolated against simple, preferably flat, backgrounds.
I started with this photo from the Rijksmuseum website, which provides high-resolution images free to use and modify for any purpose, in their Rijksstudio.
In iColorama's Form/Warp, I warped her to make a more interesting face that would fill the canvas.
I used this Rijksstudio image, which I will use to blend with the Geisha.
In Effect/Blend, I blended the flower image on top of the warped geisha image, in Normal mode, using the gray slider under Set to cut out the lightest parts of the top image.
Again in Effect/Blend, using an inverted brush mask, I blended in a bit more of the flower image where there were gaps from the previous blend, in the top left dahlia.
I warped the image to enlarge the face.
I used Adjust/Tonelab, Adust/Levels, and Tone/Enhance to improve color and tone, and used Style/Coherence and Style/Flow to smooth the image. I used Effect/Sharpen to add definition.
I used Form/Deforms preset 5 to enlarge the eyes. I did this for each eye separately. In Form/Deforms preset 5, you can use the x and y sliders to position the effect over an eye, and use the Scale and Magnify sliders to control the extent of the effect.
Here I used Form/Deforms preset 5 to enlarge the mouth.
I made some final adjustments in Tone for color and in Effect/Sharpen for definition.
