I used Paintstorm to give the look of painted strokes, but most of the heavy lifting in this image was done in iColorama, where I modified the color, tone, and textures.
I started with this photo of mine taken in the ghost town in Bodie State Park.
I opened the photo in iColorama and used Adjust/Tonelab preset 4 for tonal separation.
I opened the image in Paintstorm Studio and painted over the image using the Little Put brush.
In iColorama I used Effect/Blend to blend the Paintstorm image over the pre-Paintstorm image. I tried several blend modes and slider settings, including the sliders under Set.
I used Effect/Raise preset 2 to add emphasis to the brush strokes.
Using Texture/Vintage, I added a pattern to the wall. I used a brush mask to apply the effect only to the wall.
I used Texture/Organic to apply a different pattern to the chairs and window frame, using a brush mask to apply the effect only where I wanted it.
I used Texture/Organic to apply another texture to the table, using a brush mask to apply the effect only to the table.
I used Effect/Sharpen preset 4 to sharpen the image.
I used Tone/Enhance preset 2 at medium opacity to remove the yellow cast, and I desaturated the image a bit using Tone/B&W at medium opacity.
I used Texture/Organic to apply a texture to the image, at medium opacity.
I used Preset/Border Preset 7 at low opacity to lighten the edges a bit.
I used Form/Crop to crop.
