This is an example of an image where I combine a "mostly color" version with a "mostly lines" version to make something resembling a pen and ink drawing painted over with water colors.
I started with this photo of mine.
In iColorama, I applied Adjust/Tonelab preset 7 and Adjust/Levels, both at medium to low opacity, to lighten and add depth to the image.
I used Style/Edges. I tried many different presets and slider settings. I saved but did not apply. This will be the "mostly lines" version.
I applied Style/Water preset 6 twice. This will be the "mostly color" version.
In Effect/Blend, I blended the edges onto the scene. I used a brush mask to erase large portions of the edges in the trees, because there were just too many edges there.
To finish, I applied a paper texture in Texture/Paper, and a yellow tint in Tone/Tint.
