I love the idea of seeing through glass. Here I create an image seeing through a hole in a broken pane of glass. The edges of the glass are in sharp focus, while the woman behind it is in soft focus, as if photographed with an old large-format camera with shallow depth of field. Yet the final result is more painterly than photographic.
I started with this image I created previously. You can see how I made it here. She is in beautiful soft focus, which will contribute to the effect I am trying to achieve.
In iColorama, using Effect/Blend, I blended this photo from Pixabay, a source of copyright-free images, onto the woman. I tried several blending modes and slider settings. I used the Fill button to match the aspect ratio of the glass image with the image of the woman.
