This is a blend of a painting of flowers onto an image of a girl's face, one of my favorite subjects. It can be hard to get the blend exactly the way you want it. Here, I used iColorama's clone tool to paint away unwanted remnants of the blending step.
I started with this image I made previously. You can see how I made it here.
In iColorama I applied Tone/Tint. Then I opened the image in Metabrush. I used Wet mode in Metabrush to paint over the girl.
I will blend with this photo from the Rijksmuseum website, which provides high-resolution images free to use and modify for any purpose, in their Rijksstudio.
In iColorama, I used Effect/Blend to blend the flowers over the girl. I tried several blending modes and slider settings, including the gray slider under Set.
I made a slight increase in contrast in Adjust/Levels.
I cropped in Form/Crop.
I used Brush/Clone to paint away the vestiges of her hair from the top and left of the canvas. I zoomed in and used a small brush where needed, to preserve details along the edges. Clone with a soft brush, so that there are no hard edges showing after each clone step. And it is fine to let your clone run into the figure, because then, before applying, you can easily use a smaller brush to erase the parts of the clone you don't want.
I used Tone/Pastel and an inverted brush mask to brighten and color match the leaf sections that had been dulled by the blend. This took several steps, as for best results I did various sections of the image separately.
I brightened her eyes using Adjust/Levels and an inverted brush mask.
I applied Effect/Raise preset 1 to add emphasis to the lines.
In Tone/Enhance, using an inverted brush mask, I modified the eye color.
Finally, I applied Style/Flow preset 1 at low opacity for a touch more smoothness.
