I show how I created this image in iColorama-S on the iPhone.
I started with this fashion image that I found on the web. Because web images are tiny, I increased its size using the app BigPhoto. It will still be pixelated, because the original image was low resolution, but that won't matter because of the radical processing we will use will replace virtually all of the pixels in the image. But I want a larger image than the image on the web, because I want the final result to be a larger image.
I opened the image in iColorama. I used Adjust Tonelab preset 4 as well as trying some presets under Adjust/EQ and Adjust/EQ2 to bring out the shades in the clothing, then I used Tone/Tint to add color.
I used Effect/Pixels preset 8 and experimented with the slider settings.
I used Brush/Paint, and I selected the orange background color, and I painted over parts of the green pattern to make a shape more like a garment. I saved this image to my camera roll.
Using Brush/Paint, I selected the orange background color and painted over the entire image with a large brush, to make a solid color image. I saved this solid orange image to my camera roll. Then I used Effect/Blend to blend the previously saved image onto the solid orange image. I used my fingers to enlarge the image and place it where I wanted it. I saved this image to my camera roll.
I opened the previously saved solid orange image. I used Effect/Blend to blend a photo of one of my acrylic portrait paintings onto the orange image.
I used Brush/Paint and selected the orange background color to paint over the blue background of the portrait.
I used a preset under Effect/Pixels to pixelate the image.
Then I used Effect/Pixels preset 8, experimenting with the settings sliders.
I used Brush/Paint and selected the orange background color, and I painted over the pattern to make more of a face shape. I saved this to my camera roll. Then I opened the previously saved “garment “ image and used Effect/Blend to blend the face onto it, using my fingers to resize and place the face where I wanted it.
I used Effect/Blend to blend a geometric image over the figure, using the Phoenix blending mode and experimenting with all the slider settings.
This is the geometric image I used. I created it previously in the SketchClub app.
To finish, I used Tone/BW&C and experimented with the slider settings. Tone/BW&C is a nice way to simplify an image.
