This image is all about texture, which I created in Metabrush and iColorama, starting from one of my sketches.
I started with this sketch of mine, done with Tombo pen on paper. I photographed the page and and cleaned it up and brightened it in iColorama using Adjust/Levels and Style/Flow at low opacity.
I opened the image in Tayasui Sketches Pro and on a new layer in Multiply blend mode I painted over the figure using a watercolor brush. I used a soft watercolor paper.
I opened the image in iColorama. I used Adjust/EQ to increase color and contrast.
I opened the image in the Elasticam app, and I modified the shape of her arms and right breast.
I created this image in MetaBrush, in Brushes/Paint mode, using a large square brush at 100% opacity. In brush settings, I set spacing to its maximum value, I set position variance and rotation variance to their maximum values, and I left dynamics and extras at their default values.
This is the secondary image I used in the previous step. It is a photo from Pixabay, a source of copyright-free images. (While in Brushes/Paint, to choose the secondary image, touch the flower icon on the left edge of the screen and select an image from your camera roll.)
I opened the image of the woman in iColorama, and I used Effect/Blend to blend the MetaBrush texture image over her. I tried several blending modes and slider settings, including the sliders under Set. I used my fingers to resize and position the texture image to get something I liked. I used a brush mask to confine the blend to the figure.
I inverted the brush mask. I used Preset/Shift2 preset 4 to create the background, and I tried different slider settings, including the sliders under Set.
I exported the brush mask for later reuse, and I removed the mask. I used Preset/Border preset 7, and tried different Radius settings.
I applied Effect/Raise at low opacity, and imported my previously saved brush mask to apply the effect to only the figure. Inverting the brush mask, I used Effect/Blur preset 5 to blur the background. I experimented with different Radius settings.
