AGAPI stands for Análisis y Geometría con Aplicaciones a los Problemas Inversos (Analysis and Geometry with Applications to Inverse Problems). The group draws together researchers from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT).
The group dates back to the 2000's, when Juan Antonio Barceló (UPM) and Alberto Ruiz (UAM) became interested in the field of inverse problems. Since then, the team and the scope of the group have increased, with outsanding publications on inverse problems and related areas.
The group on Inverse Problems and (Functional) Inequalities was created in 2025, after getting funds by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (MICIU). It is based at the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT), with collaborators in other Spanish and European institutions.
The group combines its main intereset in inverse problems for PDEs with other topics related with mathematical analysis, in particular concentration inequalities.
