Scholarships

Information below from the UNI Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships about scholarship options for competitors at the state tournament.

The University of Northern Iowa is offering a $250.00 Iowa Science Olympiad Talent Scholarship (one-time/non-renewable) to each individual who places in first in an Iowa Science Olympiad event.

To be eligible and collect your scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

• be one of the 2 (for some events three) team members who participated in and placed 1st in the their event during the 2022 Iowa Science Olympiad.

• must currently be enrolled as an Iowa 6th through 12th grade student

• must meet UNI admission requirements (at time of application) and must enroll full-time (12 credit hours)

• must be a new high school graduate when entering UNI

• this scholarship is open to students pursuing all majors*

If you have placed 1st multiple times at this year’s event, the UNI Iowa Science Olympiad Scholarship can stack up to a maximum of two times in a single year ($500.00) and across years up to a total maximum of $1000.00.

Students will receive instructions on how to claim the scholarship at the awards ceremony.
