Privacy Policy for Urology OT Register
Last Updated: 31 August 2025
Thank you for choosing the Urology OT Register ("the App"). This Privacy Policy is to inform you about how we handle information.
Effective Date: August 9, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to NMIBC Guide ("the App"), provided by [Your Name / Your Company Name] ("we," "us," "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of the data you work with. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the NMIBC Guide application.
Our fundamental privacy promise is this: NMIBC Guide is designed as a secure, offline-first tool. We do not collect, store, view, or transmit any personal information or sensitive patient data you enter into the App.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
To be perfectly clear, we DO NOT collect any of the following:
Personal Information: Your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personal identifiers.
Protected Health Information (PHI): Any patient data you enter, such as patient names, hospital numbers, dates of birth, TURBT dates, or specific pathological factors.
Usage Data: We do not track how you specifically interact with the app, which buttons you press, or what calculations you perform.
Device Information: We do not collect unique device identifiers, IP addresses, or other device-specific information.
3. On-Device Data Processing
All data you enter and all calculations performed by the App (including risk scoring and schedule generation) occur exclusively on your device. The information is stored locally in the App's secure sandbox and is never sent to our servers or any third party. You are in complete control of the data on your device.
4. Information You Voluntarily Share
The only way data leaves the App is when you explicitly choose to share it using the "Export Schedule to PDF" feature. When you use this feature, you are using the native sharing functionality of your operating system (iOS or Android). We do not control where you send this information (e.g., via email, a messaging app, or to a cloud storage service). You are solely responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of the method you use to share or store the exported PDF.
5. U.S. Privacy Rights and HIPAA
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) sets the standard for protecting sensitive patient data in the United States. Here is how NMIBC Guide relates to HIPAA:
The App is designed to be a tool for healthcare professionals.
Because we (the developer) do not receive, create, maintain, or transmit any Protected Health Information (PHI) through the App, we do not function as a "Business Associate" under HIPAA.
The responsibility for HIPAA compliance remains with you, the healthcare provider. The App is a tool to be used within your existing compliant workflow, similar to a spreadsheet or a calculator.
6. Children's Privacy
This App is intended for use by medical professionals and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any changes, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed.
