So I recently upgraded from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone 12 mini. On my old phone, I had many custom ringtones I put on the phone with iTunes (a much older version) and many contacts selected to those ringtones. All that came over to my new iPhone. But now, when I just put a new contact and wanted to select one of the ringtones I put on the phone, I do not see them. Just the standard ones that come on the iPhone. How can I select one of MY RINGTONES for a given contact?

Well first off, somehow Lawrence above was wrong. When I switched from my iPhone 6 to my iPhone 12 Mini in January, all my custom ringtones came over and they all worked, using the iCloud Backup then Restore to new iPhone process. For some weird reason, back on Mar 7, all the ringtones disappeared from my new iPhone. To fix this, and some other issues, I wound up deleting ALL Music and also Home Videos/Downloaded Videos from my new iPhone (I had a lot of dupes and manually cleaning them up got messy). Then I connected to iTunes and synced and got all those corrected. My phone now had all my MUSIC and my Home Videos/Downloaded Videos, without duplicates. Then I had to fix playlists (I think just recreate one that was missing, others were there). Next, I still could not get this newer version of iTunes to play nice with ringtones, (I initially loaded them onto my old iPhone using a much older version of iTunes (angers the heck out of me that Apple took away functionality in later versions of iTunes). So I wound up installing Copy Trans Manager on my PC and this made adding the ringtones simple, I just clicked and dragged them from my iTunes Folders into this and they went onto my phone. I also found I can use it now to simply add new music or even videos (like mp4 movies to have for a flight/trip).

When I plug my old phone into my computer and go to This PC\KYOCERA\Internal storage\media\audio\ringtones like I have been told to go to for the default ringtones, the only ones that show up are a couple of custom ringtones I had put on previously. I want to extract the default ringtones like AT&T Play On and notification sounds like Syrma, so that I can put them on my new phone.

You see, I thought we had all learned a lesson with the Crazy Frog and ringtones based entirely on repeating single-syllable words, but apparently not. BingTones are now invading public places around the world. In a bid to maintain social order, I come offering some ringtones from Windows 7.

I found a ghetto work-around for group ringtones on the iPhone. It's sort of annoying but once you get it set up, its easy to then change a group ringtone. You have to set the ringtone for each one of your contacts, but only ONCE, and then changing the ringtone for a group is easy. You won't want to do this unless you enjoy changing your ringtones every so often.

1. Create a custom ringtone for each group you want to set, and give it a default name that you recognize (ie "AA_Family" "AA_Friends" "AA_Work" etc). I put the "AA_" in front so it shows at the top of my ringtones list on the iPhone.

The iPhone knows that song you are playing regardless of the filename of your ringtone. As long as you don't have conflicts, you'll be alright. Hopefully this isn't too confusing. I tried to be clear without typing out a novel. Again, this is really only helpful if you enjoy changing out your group ringtones often like I do.

I am not familiar with that phone but looking through the manual it looks like custom ringtones can be manually installed through the Web UI and selected for use (if enabled by your Administrator). Can you confirm your logged into the phone as an Administrator?

Awesome thanks!, that got me into the webui, but... not sure where to upload ringtones, or if it's possible, it has an upload file option, but manual says really only for Mitel tech use, so not really sure if i should even attempt or what directory i would upload ringtones to on the phone, any ideas?

Oh, I almost forgot: I found the "normalize" feature in step 3 to make my new ringtone a lot louder than the default ringtones already on my phone, so unlike what I initially thought, this may be not be suitable for using every time.

So I have a similar problem. I've loaded the mp3 file to the ringtones folder in the root level. Also to the media>audio>ringtones folder. I've verified they are there. So, how do I get my Droid Razr to recognize that the file is there? It doesn't show up on my phone's ringtones list in settings. I've done a complete shutdown thinking that maybe it will force the phone to re-scan everything, but no joy.

If you long to hear the comforting hum of Cloudbank's OVC Terminals each time your mother sends you a text asking if you're all right, or for some other reason, then this collection of Transistor ringtones is for you! This download contains 16 different audio effects from Transistor, formatted to work with popular iOS and Android devices (or any device that accepts .MP3 format sound files). We're pleased to offer the Transistor Ringtones at no charge.

Ringtones can be customized using two different methods: (1) via the PBX so that users have additional ringtones in the Ring Melody dropdown from certain accounts, or (2) via the web interface of the phone, wherein a single identity can be configured to use a specific ringtone. This documentation covers only (1); for using the phone features please use the phones documentation.

Agent groups and hunt groups can be configured with distinct ringtones so that users answering calls on these groups will be able to determine which type of call is coming in. Once custom ringtones have been configured, they can be selected from the Ring Melody dropdown in the hunt group and agent group accounts.

Our client facing problem with ringtone for IP Phones as below:

Customer unable to play the ringtones other than Chirp 1 & 2.

Customer able to see the other ring tones, when try to access they get error message 'unable to obtain additional ringtones from server'

As @Leo Laohoo wrote as soon as anyone access any of the ringtones from a phone the files will automatically be generated and then you likely have the problem again on another phone. The only option to fix it and stay on the current version is to apply the COP file.

I'm testing out Zoom phone service, and in the setup process, I'd like to add custom .wav files to the options that users can select from for their ringtone. I uploaded a .wav file via the vvx450's web interface, but once I add the url to the recommended Zoom provisioning server, it gets wiped from the phone. Is there a simple way to create a template that lets me include ringtones for users?

Solved after some digging.

A user on the Poly forums showed how to format .wav files to work on Poly VVX phones: -SIP-Phones/Polycom-VVX300-and-custom-ringtones/m-p/83002/highligh...

Building the provision template wasn't too hard once I found the corresponding parameter in the Poly UC documentation: -ag-6-0-0/page/r-ucs-ag-sampled-audio-file-parameters.html

After that, it was just a matter of uploading my .wav file to a publicly accessible url, one caveat being that I had to make sure the .wav file name in the url had no special characters, because it messed up the Poly phone. On Zoom's side, the provision template looks like this:

saf.2 = " "

On April 3, Spektral Quartet offered live renditions of the mini masterpieces at Fulton Recital Hall, as well as iPad listening stations that allowed guests to explore the full catalogue of ringtones.

This tutorial is about how to get ringtones on your iPhone. The narrator starts out by showing us how to use an app called Garageband to load ringtones. He demonstrates how to load the application, then open the file to search for a song that you wish to download. He clicks on the song and drags it to the import window. Once the song is there, create a cycle region by clicking the icon along the bottom of the screen to turn the cycle region on. Next, he shows how to use the yellow bar across the top to set the ringtone for 30 to 40 seconds. Next, click on share then send ringtones to iTunes. Once it appears on iTunes, you can sync your iPhone and it will be on your phone.

Want to learn how to add ringtones to your iPhone for free? You can do it using GarageBand. First open both iTunes and GarageBand. After you open GarageBand, click Create A New Music Project. Use whichever title you would like and hit create. Close the keyboard, then go to the bottom of the page and click Hide and Close the Media bar. Make sure iTunes music is selected. Next, pick a song. Click and drag the song title to the beginning. Then GarageBand will convert the file. After the file is converted you may hide/close the media browser. Make sure on the bottom of the screen that time is selected and not measure. Select the part of the song you wish to use, up to 40 seconds. Then select the Share menu and click Send Ringtone to iTunes. When you go to iTunes, the song should be under ringtones.

The mobile carrier will allow its subscribers to download ringtones based on the live performances of the music contest's finalists. For any contestant whose song may not have received publisher clearance that week, Cingular will release a new ringtone of a song performed by that contestant in an earlier round of the show. 17dc91bb1f
