How do I use iOmoney?

Easy sign-up and sign-in

You only need an accessible email account to sign in on any device and see all your data synchronized in real-time.

With email links you don't need to remember passwords and we promise never to share your email address.

iOS users can import legacy events to share in the cloud.

Menu and Profile

The menu is always available on the top right hand side of the screen and offers options to change the language and text size or use dark mode.

You can also change your profile name and photo. They will automatically update in payments and reports in which you feature.

Create and Share Events

Events can be shared with other registered users.

When you add people to your payments, invite them to join by email so that they can see your events as viewers or even or collaborate as editors.

You can also add new users directly from the Event Sharing screen.

Payments and Refunds

In iOmoney, a payment is represented by an amount paid by one person for a group of people.

A group can be made of two or more people. iOmoney divides the payment by the number of shares in the group and distributes the debts to each person.

A currency other than the local currency can be selected for each payment. iOmoney will then calculate the equivalent amount in local currency before distributing the debts.

A refund is a payment for which the person paying has a share of zero. It is useful to settle debts for example or if people lend money to each other.

Event Summary and Report

iOmoney tells you who should be paying for the next bill in the summary screen and offers a fully detailed report combining Balances, Debts and Payments categorized as Expenses and Refunds.

Debts and Balances

iOmoney distributes all the payments to generate individual debts and then tries many combinations to reduce the number of debts.

The balances screen summarizes who owes money and who is owed money. The total of all balances is always zero.
