Allison Lemons
I am a Mascarenas family member. I am an educator. I am an artist. Much of my personal strength comes from the love I have for my family, my students, and art.
I teach high school physics in Southern Arizona (Rio Rico), I've been here for thirteen years. Like many educators, I'm a person who has a lot of choices, and I choose a profession whose rewards significantly outweigh the difficulties. My heart (as yours) aches for the loss of these children. Concern for the family of I.O.E. has brought many gestures of good will and healing from the entire community. However, I feel that concern for their school, teachers, and classmates may have gone unnoticed. Therefore, I have bravely chosen this endeavor.
This significant undertaking comes from the prospect of providing an outlet for the healing of the classmates of Ian, Olivia, and Eli. Also, it will provide a way for their parents, teachers and community members to participate in a memorial that will last forever. As I.O.E. will never be forgotten, neither will be our efforts to heal those who they left behind.
