Mid-conference Excursion on 5 July 2023 

Notifications

• The post-conference excursion planned on 7 July has been CANCELED for safety reasons.

• We have marked the locations to be visited during the mid-conference excursion on the following Google Maps.

• The excursion includes visiting the obsidian sources in the Shirataki area and the Shirataki Geopark Center, which will be coordinated by Dr. Kyohei Sano, Prof. Keiji Wada, and Dr. Yoshimitsu Suda.

• The local organizing committee has obtained special permission from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Japan, for obsidian sampling. Each person is allowed to collect one plastic bag of obsidian samples at a single location during the IOC Engaru 2023 excursion. Please make sure to state that the sample was collected during the excursion when publishing any related data.

• Lunchboxes and drinks will be provided for participants during and after excursions at no extra cost.
