Prof. Kyung-Hoon Shin
Director, Institute of Oceanic and Atmospheric Science
Welcome to the Institute of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research.
We are delighted to have you visit our website.
This research institute is established to monitor and predict the rapid changes in marine environments caused by climate change and environmental pollution, which are the greatest challenges for sustainable progress and prosperity of mankind in 21st century.
The main goal is to proactively respond to climate change and environmental pollution through the development of advanced marine science and technologies, and to promote international and domestic research collaboration. In addition, the institute aims to support collaborative research by enhancing interactions among marine-related researchers and
institutions. These objectives will contribute to sustainable development of marine resources and environments, and the protection of marine ecosystems.
Sincerely,
Kyung-Hoon Shin
Director, Institute of Oceanic and Atmospheric Science
The Institute of the Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences operates two main research divisions: the Atmospheric and Climate Research Division, and the Environmental Pollution and Ecological Diagnosis Research Division.
