Few words about Ioannis Baziotis

I have been graduated from the Department of Geology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2002. Earned my PhD in petrology and geochemistry of metamorphic rocks from the National Technical University of Athens in 2009. In 2012, I became a post-doc researcher, supervised by the distinguished professor Larry Taylor. There, I worked on NASA- and NSF-funded projects dealing with the Martian meteorite Tissint and mantle xenoliths from the Siberian craton. Then, I started a post-doc research in Europe studying mantle xenoliths from the western USA. In 2014, I was hired as a lecturer in mineralogy and petrology at the Agricultural University of Athens (Laboratory of Mineralogy and Geology, Department of Natural Resources Management and Agricultural Engineering). In 2016, I was promoted to assistant professor. In 2023 promotes to associate professor level. 

I have extensive collaborations with numerous universities across the globe, including Caltech, NASA, Natural History museum of Vienna, Open University UK, etc. I have deliver invited lectures at conferences and for the broader audience. I have 59 published papers in international, high profile, peer-reviewed journals. Finally I serve the community as a reviewer for various international scientific journals and as an external reviewer for the NASA post-doctoral program.
