InvestDiary ("the App") is a personal investment return tracking application developed by Kailas Sree Chandran ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By using InvestDiary, you agree to the terms described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Investment data: investment names, amounts, return entries, dates, and notes that you manually enter into the App.
- Account information: your name and email address when you sign in using Google Sign-In.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Authentication tokens: provided by Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication) to securely identify your account.
- Sync data: your investment records are optionally synced to Firebase Firestore to allow data backup and access across devices.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photos.
- We do not collect any financial account credentials or banking information.
- We do not serve advertisements or use any advertising SDKs.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected solely to:
- Provide and operate the InvestDiary app.
- Store your investment data securely on your device (local SQLite database) and optionally in the cloud (Firebase Firestore) for backup.
- Authenticate your identity via Google Sign-In.
- Allow you to export your data as PDF or Excel files for your own use.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
4. Data Storage
4.1 Local Storage
All your investment data is primarily stored locally on your device using a SQLite database. This data remains on your device and is not accessible to us.
4.2 Cloud Storage (Firebase)
If you sign in with your Google account, your investment data is synced to Google Firebase Firestore to enable backup and multi-device access. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
5. Third-Party Services
InvestDiary uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) for user sign-in: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Firebase Firestore (Google) for cloud data sync: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Sign-In for authentication: https://policies.google.com/privacy
6. Data Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your data:
- All cloud data is stored in Firebase Firestore with security rules ensuring each user can only access their own data.
- Google Sign-In provides secure, token-based authentication without exposing your Google password to the App.
- Local data is stored in the app's private storage, inaccessible to other apps on your device.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data is retained as long as you use the App.
- You can delete individual investment entries or all data directly within the App at any time.
- To permanently delete your cloud data and account, contact us at kailassreechandran@yahoo.co.in and we will delete your Firebase account and associated data within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
InvestDiary is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at kailassreechandran@yahoo.co.in.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
