Inverting Hierarchies in Geometry, Topology, and Dynamics
A workshop for graduate students combining research and mentoring
About: On 12-13 April 2025, UC Riverside will host an in-person workshop for graduate students working in geometry, topology, and dynamics
Format: There will be three pairs of research/introductory talks, where the academic hierarchy has been flipped: plenary talks given by graduate students and colloquium-style introductory talks given by senior researchers. The workshop will also feature a mentoring panel featuring the introductory speakers and moderated by the plenary speakers. Graduate student participants will also be invited to give 5-minute lightning talks.
Remote access: We will simultaneously broadcast the plenary/introductory talks on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. Zoom links will be posted here shortly before the workshop begins.
