How do I enable two-factor authentication?

You can enable two‑factor authentication (2FA) for your Intuit account by turning on “Two‑step verification” in your account’s security settings. This adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a one‑time code sent via text, voice call, or authenticator app every time you sign in. 

1. Sign in to your Intuit Account

   • Go to the Intuit Account Manager (via QuickBooks, TurboTax, or Intuit.me/mgr).

   • Enter your User ID and password.

2. Open Sign in & Security

   • Navigate to Settings → Sign in & Security.

3. Turn on Two‑step Verification

   • In the “Two‑step verification” section, select Turn On.

   • Choose your preferred verification method:

     • Text Message: Receive a 6‑digit code via SMS.

     • Voice Call: Get an automated call with a code.

     • Authenticator App: Use apps like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator for one‑time passcodes.

4. Confirm Setup

   • Enter the code you receive.

   • Re‑enter your account password to finalize.

   • You’ll see a confirmation message and receive an email about the update.
