Tuesday 7:30 p.m. – Santa Cruz Meeting

(Updated 04/22/25)

Good evening and welcome to the “Tuesday Into the Light ” meeting of Sex Addicts Anonymous. My name is _____________, I am a sex addict and your secretary. This is a closed meeting, open to anyone who has a desire to stop their compulsive sexual behaviors. Our monthly business meeting is held on the first Tuesday of the month immediately following the closing prayer.

This is a sober anonymous and remote meeting. Please click on your image and share just your first name. To avoid distracting others be mindful of what appears on your screen.  Please keep your microphone muted at all times except when you are speaking or for prayers.

We invite you to keep your cameras on during the meeting in order to foster fellowship and recovery. But we understand that there are important reasons you may have to keep your cameras off. Whatever the case, you are welcome at this meeting!

May we have a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer?

Could we please hear The Opening. [p. 1-2, paragraphs 3, 4, 5]

Could we please hear Our Program and the Twelve Steps. [page. 20, starting at the 2nd paragraph]

Could we please hear The Abstinence Statement? [use p. 14-15, the 1st three par.]

Could we please hear the Twelve Traditions? [the 12 Traditions:  p 17]

It’s the custom of this meeting to welcome newcomers. Are there any newcomers or anyone in their first 30 days of sobriety who would like to introduce themselves?

We’re glad you’re here, keep coming back!

Is anyone celebrating a sobriety birthday?

The format of this meeting is a selected reading from the SAA Green Book, the AA Big Book, the AA 12 & 12 or other spiritual literature followed by general sharing reflecting on the reading or whatever you choose to share regarding recovery from addictive sexual behavior. On the 2nd  Tuesday of the month we will read from the SAA Green Book. On the last Tuesday of the month we will have a speaker share his or her personal SAA recovery.

Sponsorship is an important tool in our recovery.  For those of you looking for a sponsor or help with your circles, we suggest asking those whose recovery you relate to or admire about their availability.  If you are not successful on your first inquiry, be patient, and remember: you are not alone.

Are there any SAA related announcements?

It is group conscience of this meeting that that we don’t have cross-talk which means making a direct comment on what someone else has said. To avoid triggering others please refrain from naming specifics such as web-sites or acting out locations. Also, please use the timer to keep the length of your share to approximately three minutes. If you do not wish to share, simply pass.

This evening we are pleased to have ___________ share his/her personal SAA recovery. Would you like to be notified when you have 10 minutes, then 5 minutes remaining for your share? (20 minute total share time)

Green Book Reading

Closing

At 8:21: The last six minutes of sharing are for those new to recovery, on the edge of sobriety, or with a burning desire. This time is set aside for you.

If there is no one, we will return to the regular order of sharing.

At 8:27: That’s all the time we have for sharing.  If you did not get a chance to share and have a desire, please speak with someone after the meeting.

Is there someone that would like to choose a reading for next week? [only if the next meeting is the 1st or 3rd Tuesday when we need a reader.]
