Hyena
Hyena.
Stout, furry thing;
the Al Paquas
of Feliformia.
Very interesting, the
Hyena.
In much of the world
he is abused.
Hyena
is looked upon
with scorn,
with malice.
Dogs chase him,
predator becoming prey,
Hyena
stripped of his honor.
Like a crippled soldier
returned home from war,
he is rejected,
Hyena.
Men speak of
Hyena
in their tall tales,
spinning lies.
Yet through all this,
the hate, the abuse,
Hyena
holds his head high;
And all
Hyena
does is throw
back his head and laugh.
Hyena
laughs the
laugh of
a broken man.
A pitiful
and wretched
shrill screech
his voice becomes.
Because
Hyena
knows that he
is not wanted.
But he knows
that he must
keep moving, looking.
For that is what he is meant to do.
Hyena.
Rejected, abused thing.
The forgotten wanderer
of Feliformia.
