In the Attic is a young international indie rock trio with the singer and keyboardist Tatiana from Russia, guitarist Edvard from Slovenia and drummer Chris from Australia, now based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Being high school buddies, the three of them all gravitated towards music and found chemistry playing together. The band’s first performance was on a Slovene young bands’ competition Spilliga in 2015, which they won two seasons later in 2018. That same year was a turning point for the band as they decided to commit their musical vision to a record, releasing their debut full length studio album “Jimmy’s” in May 2018. From that point until now, the band has gigged Slovenia’s established venues such as Kino Šiška, Gala Hala and Channel Zero and performed at festivals such as LENT, Domorodnih 10, Vičstock and MENT Ljubljana showcase festival. In 2019 they recorded and released their second studio album - an EP “New Fears”, and then exactly a year later their latest single Everybody Always Dies, which has marked a direction and development of the band in more creative and involved production approach.
The music of In the Attic is an interesting mix of dark, explorative and expressive buildups and powerful, moving breakdowns, that are still conveyed with a catchy quality, reminiscent of the band’s indie and alternative rock influences. They deliver an impactful musical experience that lyrically presents greater conceptual narratives, often in a storytelling manner.
After a bit of a hiatus, due to the lockdowns and the band members establishing a new life in the Netherlands, the band decided to carry on the project on the Dutch music scene and has started writing new material.
