Open the menus below to access relevant information, policies, procedures, and resources for clinical educators supporting undergraduate candidates.
During the part-time internship semester, teacher candidates will engage in writing a mock-edTPA portfolio. The mock-edTPA portfolio must be rated at a proficient or better for the student to advance to full-time student teaching. While the student is completing the mock-edTPA portfolio, clinical educators are encouraged to provide support, ideas, and feedback for the intern.
During the full-time student teaching semester, teacher candidates will complete edTPA for national scoring. During this round, clinical educators must follow the guidelines set forth by edTPA/Pearson. In essence, the support that clinical educators can provide is minimal compared to the internship semester. Click here to read those guidelines.
All clinical educators will complete, sign, and turn in the Clinical Educator Agreement to supervise a given student for two semesters. The agreement form for clinical educators supervising teacher candidates should be completed by the end of the second week of school. At the close of the student teaching semester, clinical educators will be mailed a $100 stipend and a Lenoir-Rhyne tuition voucher valid for one three-credit hour course.
