Welcome to International Biotech Forum
As we all know biotechnology is a very fast growing sector in the world. In india, it is growing with the fastest rate ever and is expected to be more promising sector by 2022. In india, according to a survey we require at least 100000 biotech graduates but we are producing only 60,000 in a year.
In india not many are aware of the sector and run towards other sectors like it/cse/ e.t.c. And they have much more graduates than required. In foreign countries like usa, europe an average biotech graduate get an annual package of 40-60 lakhs but in india it is less as compared to foreign nations. In india, the salary rises with the experience and knowledge. However it is becoming one of the most promising sector in todays world with a boon to various sectors like pharma, medical, food, research labs, agriculture and many more industries.
One may choose any as per their interest. B.sc is a clear research oriented field and hence more degrees after it like m.sc and phd are must to get a decent job. On the other hand b.tech is a professional, industrial oriented path and hence will be more beneficial to get good packages.
The employment areas for biotech students are numerous such as in colleges & Universities, Hospitals, Research Laboratories, Industries, Bio-industries, IT companies, Indian Army(Indian Army organizes tests for biotech jobs and it’s in high demand), Content writing(Medical) etc.
The job types include posts of Scientist, Research Associate, Sales Officer, Professor, Assistant Research Analyst, Biotech Product Analyst, Research Associate, Quality Control Officer etc. In fact, one can open his own research labs with government affiliations.
For the students for making career in biotechnology should be aware that in India the field of “Biotechnology” is still developing so it may happen that in few companies or institutions the pay packages and job opportunities can be low if we compare it with the other major sectors but it’s really not okay if students back off their decision of choosing biotechnology because this is very very important field which can take India up in the list of developed nation in coming years.
