2026 Juneteenth Interfaith Celebration! Our 4th Annual Juneteenth Interfaith Celebration brought together members of our eight faith communities for an evening of learning, music, reflection, and fellowship. Through inspiring readings, shared prayers, and powerful storytelling, we explored Montgomery County's complex history - from enslavement and emancipation to the ongoing pursuit of justice, equity, and belonging. As people of many faiths gathered in a spirit of respect and hope, we honored the resilience of those who came before us and reaffirmed our shared commitment to building a more just and compassionate community for generations to come. Below are pictures from our celebration that was held on June 19th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kentlands Ward (Photographer: Jeremy Hasson):
"Many faiths, one community - celebrating differences, building unity"
Our mission is to develop a welcoming environment where people of many faiths work together in community by fostering warmth, compassion, and harmony while honoring our differences.
We create relationships through local action, education, and celebrations.
We support each other with respect, openness, and deepened understanding
Together we have sponsored annual Juneteenth Interfaith Celebrations, worked together on service projects, and sponsored forums to deepen understanding of each group's faith practices.
The Route 28 Quince Orchard Interfaith Team is a grassroots coalition of local faith organizations, located on or near the Route 28 corridor and the Quince Orchard community in Montgomery County, Maryland.
