We started this organization because we realized how many people unfortunately are affected by illnesses or inhibitions that prohibit them from sustaining a "regular" lifestyle with many close relationships. They don't have much company and aren't allowed to have as many visitors to meet in person, especially during the pandemic. Because of this, we want to ensure that everyone can be "interconnectd" by providing them with the chance to speak with people, make new friends, and let them have a good time. If you would like to sign up or sign your child up, please visit the "Get Connected" page!
Pooja Yerneni and Shweta Raman are both high school juniors and long-time best friends from the state of New Jersey. During quarantine last year, they started Interconnectd to reach out to pediatric patients and children with special needs to create a sense of companionship and connectivity during the tough times of isolation. Pooja and Shweta both are varsity captains of the girl's tennis team and are involved in many volunteer activities outside of Interconnectd.
Pooja is an involved member of her community. She plays singles for the varsity tennis team, is the Co-President and Co-Founder of the mock trial club, and is the Vice President of the debate team. She is also involved in her school's honors societies and research club. Outside of school, Pooja can be found dancing, baking, or watching Netflix.
Shweta has been swimming competitively for 13 years, and is also a lifeguard. During the fall, she plays for her school's varsity tennis team. Throughout the year, she is an avid member of the Nemesis 2590 Robotics team on the marketing subteam. She is also the Co-President & Co-Founder of her high school's forensics club, secretary of mock trial club, a member of the multicultural club, and Bollywood dance team.
